The title is a working title until I can actually figure out a title for this. ^^
So now we will finally hear some of Celeste's side of the story. I've heard a couple of you don't like her all that much, and that's fine. ^^
As long as you don't hate her with every fiber of your being, I'm fine. I've done my job!

Overwhelmed by the questions Sunflora and Chimecho had asked at dinner, she could barely follow them to their room. How many questions could they possibly ask? What could they gain from someone who walked through a living nightmare? She didn't want to remember the dark, it was all too close to the dark that pervaded the guild now. She could only concentrate on Sunflora and Chimecho directly in front of her, it was too dark to see anything else.
The new moon was upon them, and she shivered. She could barely see her own steps as she padded silently through the hallway. For some reason, the atmosphere seemed to get darker, colder, the closer she got to Sunflora and Chimecho's shared room. Fear crept on her and she nearly bumped into her friends, who looked equally uneasy.
"S-So, nice weather we're having." Chimecho mumbled.
"EEEK! Let's just get inside." Sunflora had squealed when Celeste accidentally bumped into her. Celeste leaped back into the gloomy atmosphere, and the three girls dashed into the room, closing the door behind them for once. Although there was nothing to be afraid of, they all stood with backs against the wall, staring at the door, wondering if someone would come in at any moment. After moments of silence and staring, the three gathered together, casting occasional glances at the door, and all sat in Sunflora's nest.
"We're safe." Chimecho breathed, and the two others could only nod in reply, wondering why they had felt such a rush of fear. What was it about the darkness tonight that had sent chills up their spine, their eyes revolving around the room, darting glances at the only entrance to the room, lips pressed together until they were white?Sunflora, Chimecho, and Celeste all looked at each other, and finally decided, after some light chit chat, that going to bed would be best. Celeste could tell them all about the future in the morning, where the sun would light up the dark corners and the strange shadows crawling across the floor in front of them.
The problem with going to sleep afraid, however, is that fear manifests itself into your dreams. It roots into your heart and takes form. The fear shows you the scariest thing of all: the truth. The truth you so easily hid from everyone but yourself in the daylight, what you are most afraid of. That is the problem with falling asleep afraid. It is not a way to escape. It is a way to fall even deeper.
Thus, Celeste did not have a restful night. Instead of seeing her sister gone, that blurry-imaged girl with the long straight hair and eyes she never could remember the color of when she woke up, she saw what happened afterwards, what she'd seen in the dark future. What had, she realized, been her future, as well. Celeste shivered. It couldn''t be true. She couldn't have... no... She faded away into the truth. Most would say the truth set her mind free of wondering.
Instead she felt like it had trapped her.
"We won't have to worry about that traitor anymore. She's as good as dead." She mumbled, using her grey newsboy cap to wipe off sweat from her pale, never-seen-sun greyish pink skin. Deep blue eyes blinked, and she tried to hide a yawn, tried to hide the bags under her eyes, the way her legs were trembling.
It was over now. She could finally rest. She turned to one of the Sableye, a blue-eye. The little purple minion was staring at the prisoner they'd caught, one of the resistance members, one of the high-ranking ones. The one she'd been specifically designed to capture was bound by ropes to a tree, looking at some distant hill, probably raptured by the artificial lights that Dusknoir had placed on the compound where she used to live. Celeste followed her eyes, to look at the place she called home.
"You're stupid, you know that? You could've had it all. Then you ran off, wanted to kill everyone, become a murderer of thousands. If even one of you got back to the past, do you realize the damage you could do to us? To yourself? Fool. Dusknoir trusted you and Grovyle like his own children. Why in the underworld would you betray him?" Celeste growled, and pulled her grey jacket closer to a ratty white-ish tank top. The wind was chilly tonight on top of the Dark Hill. Celeste looked out to the horizen, wondering when the stupid Sableye under her command was going to get to the compound and tell Dusknoir to teleport them back. Wearing a skirt for this mission had not been a smart idea.
"You don't understand, do you?" The prisoner asked, voice and eyes faraway. "Do you really think that this is all there is? That you're doing the right thing? This atmosphere is killing everyone. If we don't change the past, the world is going to be completely void of anything."
"We can manage." Celeste growled, gritting her teeth against the biting cold. "and what's your solution? Killing everyone? Like that'll do anything."
"That's not what I'm saying! That's not..." Celeste suddenly stood up, listening. Something was out there. It wasn't a Sableye. It had to be Grovyle. It was leaves rubbing against each other. Celeste's eyes revolved from side to side, trying to tell where he was. The Sableye around her perked up, all two of them, and immediately dashed to scout the surrounding area. Celeste stood in front of the prisoner, determined not to lose her this time. She pulled out her knife, a small thing that could fit inside her breast pocket when closed, but nevertheless, a weapon.
come on, stupid Sableye! Celeste thought, as she bent her knees, ready to dodge Grovyle's Bullet Seed. She didn't expect him to jump from the tree, leaf blade ready. Celeste jumped out of the way, the blade barely slicing her clothing. As the creature came after her, as they made a deadly dance of her knifes and his blades, Dusknoir's voice rang in her mind.
"Remember, human, what your name means. Celeste. Heavenly, perfect, above the rest. I chose you because you are above the rest. You are the only one competent enough to catch this demonspawn, to bring this murderer back for justice. Don't disappoint."
Celeste was determined to live up to her name. With her knife, she suddenly turned the tables to offensive. She'd fought Leader off, beaten him fair and square. No one said she had to be fair here. Not to a murderer. Not to the scum of the Future World. She slashed out with her knife, and as soon as she saw red starting to well up, that one wince, she took that chance. She dashed forward, knife raised. She heard a scream, felt a tingle, and suddenly she was back in the compound.
Looks like the Sableye had finally gotten there. She looked back to make sure Dusknor had teleported the prisoner as well, and though untied, the Prisoner didn't move, aside from trembling. Celeste pulled a rag from off the wall and cleaned her knife, job complete. She would keep this world safe. Dusknoir floated over, hugging her.
"Good job, Celeste." He said, and turned to the Prisoner. Celeste nodded, allowing the faintest of smiles to paint her lips. It was worth it. She would definitely keep those precious to her safe.
Even if she had to wade in blood, she would keep them safe. She was above the rest, perfect, heavenly. A guardian angel. She put her knife away and left the room to get some food and rest.
Celeste woke up with a start, the dream making her break out in cold sweat. It was a dream. Just a dream, right?
It was just a dream...
Just a dream...
