I put on a smile in front of the others
And slide it off when not needed
But in front of you
It's easy to
Not even need it
But this isn't just about me,
As I wonder all night
Why you have trouble
Sleeping alright
Does your smile fade as soon as I'm gone
Does it act as a mask that you wear day long
Do you have to pretend
Or is your laugh real,
Are your emotions hidden
From even you to feel?
