Katherine and Darcy looked at me confused. "Why?"
I motioned with my head towards table nine. "That's my father." I said slowly, in a low voice.
Katherine understood, but Darcy was still confused. "What?" He asked.
"No time to explain. One the count of three, we break for it."
Katherine set down a tip. "One."
I grabbed the book. "Two."
I nodded. "Three."
We pushed in our chairs, and walked quietly out the door. Through the window I saw him stand up.
We broke for it. I was the fastest, with Katherine and Darcy trailing me. He was hot on our tails, and I needed to lose him. As I was running, I kicked trash can, it bought us a few seconds. Then I turned around so I was running backwards. "Katherine, go right. Darcy, go the other way. Meet me back at Katherine's apartment." I didn't want them getting hurt. So I kept going straight. I ran so that I was even with a automobile, grabbed into the back, and swung my self into the back seat. That seemed to lose him. I lay on the floorboards so the driver couldn't see me, then at the next turn I dove into a alleyway, and rolled to a stop so I wouldn't be hurt. That didn't prevent me from getting a sizable cut down my right leg, another on my cheek, and both of my knees were scraped up.
I probably looked a sight, with my hair in a mess, my nice dress all torn up, missing a shoe, and blood coming down my leg and cheek. Tumbling was never my strong suit.
I looked around at my surroundings. After a minute or two, I realized where I was. This alleyway was two blocks from the lounging house.
I tied my handkerchief around my leg, picked up my book, and stumbled home. I probably looked a wreck, with my hair in a mess, my dress stained and torn, and with cuts and bruises all over. Going as fast as I could, which was really slow considering I had just ran for my life.
Good God I'm scared. My own father is less then a mile away. He almost got me. He could of kidnapped me.
He could of kidnapped me.
And after today's events, I know he's trying to.Wassup! I know, I know, it's a short chapter. Please comment and don't forget to vote!
