K so... I've had a severe case of the most deadly disease known to authors,
WRITER'S BLOCK!!!! I know, horrible right? I am super sorry for not posting sooner. Also, I broke 300 reads on the series! Thx guys!! Anywho, here's ya chapter.

I can't believe it. I still can't believe it.
Crutchie and I were seated on my bunk, while Anthony and the others were talking around the card table. I had stopped listening a while ago.
I have no clue what he will do out from jail. Hopefully he'll just go to live with Uncle Henry. However, I don't hope he's going to try and find me an Anthony.
I've only been out of the Refuge for two weeks. There is no way I can hold my own against Father, or even run fast enough to get away from him.
I re-read the article. Not a clue of what he's up to now. Great.
So my father's out of jail, could be drinking again, and also could be searching for me and Anthony. Amazing.
And so now I could possibly be kidnapped by my own father. Splendid.
What the heck do I do now? I turned to Crutchie. "What the heck do I do now?"
"I honestly don't know." He answered.
"Then its a good thing I do." Said Jack, walking over from the card table.  "Melody is going to stay with Kath for a few days. That way she'll be off the street." He turned to me. "Pack your things."
Obeying him, I began to grab my stuff. I took my tooth brush, Jack's pictures, and a photo of me and Crutchie we had gotten taken a week ago, after Snyder's trial. I also took the little box that held my money. Wrapping everything up in my old dress, along with the one Katherine had given me, (she had decided to let me keep it) I sat the bundle in the crook of my arm, kissed Crutchie on the cheek, and followed Jack and Anthony to Katherine's apartment. Not too long after the strike she had moved out from her father's house and into a two bedroom apartment about 5 blocks away. While Jack still lived at the lodging house, he was gradually moving in, and paid a quarter of the rent too, with his money from his new job as a political cartoonist. I missed him, but they seemed really happy together. I wouldn't be surprised if they got married in a few years, when they find the money.
After a short walk, we were at her building. After a trek up 3 flights of stairs, we reached apartment #346. Jack knocked, and within a few seconds Katherine opened up. She looked tired from work, but she perked up when she saw us.
"What are you doing here?" She asked, noticing my bundle.
Anthony looked around the hall. "Can we come in?" He asked.
Katherine nodded, and showed us into a room with a sofa and two armchairs. Me and Anthony took the couch, Jack sat in a chair, and Katherine stood. "What's going on?"
"Our father was bailed out of jail." Anthony answered. Her eyes widened, but she nodded for him to continue. "Because of this, we thought Melody should stay off the street for a few days, and we thought she might be able to stay with you."
"Of course!" She replied. She turned to me. "The spare room is yours for as long as you need it."
The boys left, and Katherine showed me to my room, which housed a double bed, night stand with a lamp and a drawer, and a small wardrobe. I hung the dresses up, and placed the money, toothbrush, drawings, and picture in the drawer. It was almost seven, and I helped Katherine to fix some supper. Then we talked for a while in the living room, when I spotted some books on a shelf. One of which, was a copy of Little Women. I asked Katherine if I could borrow it, and when she gave me permission I went back to my bedroom and read for a few hours, until it was almost eleven. I then marked my place, set the book on the nightstand, turned out the lamp, and went to sleep.
