Chapter 1- How it started

Disclaimer: I do not own Naruto. Masashi Kishimoto owns Naruto. I only own my OC's and stuff that doesn't happen in the actual plot. I also do not own the pictures or videos I post here, nor do I own the images I used for the book cover. They belong to their rightful owners. The book cover, however, I did make. Please don't steal it.

In this book, Orochimaru doesn't leave the village yet, and the Uchiha massacre doesn't happen yet.

*Flashback*

"Daddy!" my five year old voice shouted. I ran into the kitchen trying to find him, but he wasn't there.

"He's over here sweetie!" mommy called out. I followed the sound of her voice, leading me to the living room. There, stood my mother, Misa Hatake, and my father, Kakashi Hatake. Mommy turned towards me. She had pretty dark brown hair, flowing down her back and ending at her waist. Her eyes were a nice shade of grey, which I inherited.

"What do you need, Kasumi?" mommy asked. Kasumi's my name. My full name is Kasumi Hatake.

"I want to show daddy this picture I drew of him before he goes on his mission!" I said while waving the picture around. Daddy turned around. He has silver hair, the same as me! He always wears a mask though. I've never seen his full face.

"Alright kiddo, let me see," he said while kneeling down. I put the drawing into his hands, beaming with joy. I can't tell if he's smiling or not. The mask is getting in the way.

"Daddy, are you smiling?" I asked timidly. Mommy peeked over at daddy.

"He is Kasumi," she told me while getting out some money. Daddy placed his hand on my head.

"This is really nice Kasumi. I'm very proud of you," he told me. I giggled and place my hands on my hips, beaming with pride. Daddy kissed me on the forehead before getting up and kissing mommy on the cheek. I watched with adoration. Mommy loves daddy and daddy loves mommy. It's always fascinated me before.

"I'll see you girls later okay? My mission is just for two days," he told us while putting on his ANBU mask. I want to become an ANBU and have awesome teammates like Itachi-san and Tenzo-san. I've met them before, and I really like them!

"Bye daddy!" I shouted as he left the house. Mommy got out her purse and put some money into it.

"Alright Kasumi, let's go and make use of this free time," she told me while taking my hand and leading me out the door.

"Where are we going mommy?" I asked.

"We just need some groceries."

"Okay."

I got out of mommy's hold and started to skip down the road. Mommy chuckled and stayed behind, but I knew that she was watching me. Up ahead, I saw ojiisan.

"Ojiisan!" I yelled and jumped into his arms, him quickly catching me. He chuckled.

"Hello Kasumi. How are you?" he asked. I looked up at him with gleaming eyes.

"I'm great ojiisan!"

Mommy came up behind me and bowed to ojiisan.

"Hello Orochimaru-sensei. It's been a while," she told him while straightening her back.
