(Kasumi's POV)
I woke up to the warmth of my dad's chest, making me want to snuggle in deeper. Too bad, my alarm clock went off not a second later, startling dad awake. I chuckled and got up, stretching out my aching muscles from the position I slept in.
"Morning," I told him as I walked to the bathroom and washed my face free from the dried tear stains, listening as dad muttered a "good morning" and walked out of the room. After washing my face, I walked downstairs only to see dad passed out on the couch. I sweat dropped at him and walked to the kitchen, making a left for the pantry. I pulled out a cup of instant ramen and set it on the counter while grabbing a pot and filling it with water. After setting it on the stove and turned on the flame, I walked to a chair and sat down.
After staring at the clock for a couple of minutes, I looked across the table. Something orange caught my eye, and that something just so happened to be the little book that dad always reads. I narrowed my eyes at the perverted picture on the front, contemplating if I should read a little or just burn it to ashes. I decided on the former, wanting to see what's so good about it to have dad's nose stuck in it 24/7.
Stretching my arm out, I grabbed the book and started reading from page one. After a couple of words, my eyes widened considerably and my nose was already dripping from blood. I can't believe my dad reads this stuff! And the worst part? Mom and dad used to read this together. *Shudders* I don't think I'll be having any pleasant dreams for a while.
I snapped the book shut and walked to the stove, turning off the flame and pouring the boiling hot water into the ramen cup. That's when dad came in and saw my bloody nose. He raised an eyebrow.
"What happened to you?" he asked groggily. Heh, so he's still tired.
"Nothing," I answered while grabbing a seat. He stared at me for a while before he shifted his eyes on to his book, which is out of it's original place. Dang it! I forgot to put it back!
"You didn't—" he started, but I interrupted him.
"I did. Let's just say, I'm very disappointed at both you and mom," I told him while wiping my nose. Should've done that earlier. I shoved a spoon full of ramen into my mouth.
Dad sighed and picked up the book, putting it in his pocket. Damn! I was going to burn it later! As if reading my thoughts, dad eyed me wearily.
"Whatever you're thinking about, I won't let it happen," he said. I slumped my shoulders, looking down into my ramen.
"You better hurry. If I'm not mistaken, you have the graduation test today. You don't want to be late," he told me while taking my ramen. I snorted.
"Like you?" I asked, making him sweat drop. He nodded his head anyway and shooed me out of the kitchen. I rolled my eyes and went upstairs, picking out an outfit my mom used to wear when she was my age (outfit number 2 on the side —>). I'm glad that it fits perfectly, because I find this outfit to be my favorite. I went downstairs and saw dad on the couch, reading his "perverts only" book. He looked up and smiled at what I'm wearing.
"Nice," he complimented. I smiled at him and walked out the door, shouting a "bye" over my shoulder. I was halfway to the academy when I saw Kiba walking in the same direction.
"Kiba!" I called out, making him look back and smile at me. Akamaru barked a greeting at me.
"Hey Kasumi. Are you ready for the graduation exam?" he stopped walking and waited for me to catch up. When I finally did, I nodded my head.
"Yup! I'm ready to kick some exam butt!"
He just chuckled at me and continued walking, with me walking beside him.
