Heya readers! Apologies for the long wait. I've been busy with band activities after school a lot so I haven't had much of a chance to get writing, and also I wrote a few paragraphs at one point and somehow they were deleted. I'm not very upset about it but still mildly disappointed. Enjoy my dudes! And just to let you know, THIS IS NOT THE LAST CHAPTER! I PROMISE!

Matt watched his tall friend apprehensively. He held the paper in his fingers, brow furrowed in concentration as his black chasms flicked over the letters written in red ink. Matt couldn't read his emotions for once - he seemed utterly detached. Not even a flicker of recognition could be seen behind his eyes.

As he waited for Tom to finish, Matt's train of thought departed. He didn't mention what was inside the box. He just said not to get rid of it. He glanced hesitantly over at it. From how he spoke, it seems pretty important. But it could also be a bomb or something else that makes it easy to kidnap us again. Matt peered out the window, searching for someone possibly waiting for them to open it, waiting for an opportunity to strike.

But... He might be totally honest, too. The optimist in Matt was showing its face once again. He bit his lip, having second thoughts. Maybe Tord has changed. Maybe he sent us an apology gift...? Matt hesitantly made his way over to the box and put his hand on the side. If we open this, we either get kidnapped again, this time for good, or we find out Tord's sorry for real.

"Matt." The ginger snapped out of his trance and turned around, looking up at the giant. "Don't touch that. He's lying. It's all a lie." Without giving the tiny any time to react, he pushed Matt away from it with a single movement of his hand. Matt fell on his bottom and looked up at Tom, slightly stunned. "I'm getting rid of this."

Matt regained his composure and stood up. He frowned indignantly at having been handled like he were nothing. "Wait. What if it's not anything bad?" He still wasn't sure about it, but he was also getting extremely curious. And maybe, just maybe, Tord was being genuine. Matt walked around Tom's hand and up to the box again. He put his hand under the lid, prepared to try and open it.

Tom sighed. "Matt, you're being stupid. Just leave it." With a gentle swipe of his hand he moved Matt away from the box again against his will.

Matt stood up quickly this time and huffed angrily, grabbing at Tom's finger. "Tom! Please, just listen to me. Open it, alright?" It was too late now to go back. Matt needed to know what was in it.

"I'm getting rid of it," Tom said, disregarding Matt again. He moved his hands and went to pick it up.

Matt ran up and latched onto one of Tom's fingers, even though he knew he couldn't physically stop him in any situation. "Tom, please!" His mind searched for anything that could sway his friend's steadfast opinion. "What if... What if it's something that could make me normal again?"

Tom stared down at Matt before lifting his hand up, Matt still clinging to it tightly, this time to keep from falling. Matt looked up at Tom again and saw that his black eyes seemed, impossibly, darker than usual. Matt shrunk back at the scary look on his friend's face.

After many moments of just watching Matt, Tom pulled the scared little thing off his finger with his other hand and dangled him in front of his face. Tom didn't understand him whatsoever. So, Tom thought, Matt thinks Tord sent something that would make him normal again. So that means Matt trusts Tord. He believes the letter. Tom grew more and more angry but swallowed it down.
