-Mana P.O.V-
"Please get in!!", I pray.
The ball bounce from the ring. The match is over...we lost.
"We...lost?", tears streaming from my eyes.
Seirin players are crying and laughing for their victory.
"I..I...", I clenched my fist.
I feel my body weakening, it was suffocating...
"I...It's suffocating...", I collapsed.
Just when I about to fall, I felt someone grabbed my arm and pulled...it as Akashi, he pulled me to his embrace.
"That's enough Mana, you've done well", he stroke my head.
I feel myself crying and burying my face on his chest.

"Mana, let's go home", Akashi help me up. "Bye-bye Sei-chan!! Mayoi-chan!", Reo-senpai left. "Goodbye!!", Nebuya-senpai and Kotaro-senpai chorused. "Don't worry about it, we will beat them next time, so don't cry", Chihiro-senpai cheer me up before he left. Everyone already left the stadium, I bet Taiga and Tetsuya will have a party tonight to celebrate their victory.
"Chihiro-senpai has changed this lately, he used to be very cold. He's so nice to me", I smiled.
"Why are you smiling?", Akashi asked annoyed.
"Akashi, don't you think Chihiro-senpai is getting nicer lately? He's really kind", I giggled.
"Oddly enough he only act like that around you", he speak harshly.
"Now, now...why are you angry?", I sweatdropped.
"Now let's go home, shall we?", Akashi offered his hand.
"Fine...", I blushed.
Akashi sounds ecstatic and happy despite being defeated, I guess his passion for basketball return, just like me. But since we lost...I take it that he won't tell me anything? It's sad...
"Mana...about that time...", he halt.
"Yes?", I asked.
"Since we lost...I..won't tell you the truth, but-".
"My, my aren't you slow Akashi-san?", a womanly voice appeared behind me.
"That voice...mother!!", I turned to my mother.
"Mayoi-san...", Akashi frowned.
"Ah, hello Mana-chan~", my mother greet cheerfully. Then she stared both of us intently. "It looks like I'm intruding, well then I will see you at home Mana-chan".
"Y-Yes, mother", I was too shocked to answer normally,
She's supposed to be in Los Angeles...why would she...
"It's inevitable", Akashi sighed.
"Huh?".
"Today was fun, I had fun playing with you", Akashi smiled kindly then pat my head.
"He looks sad...why?".
"I used to hate basketball...because of it...everyone started to bloom before me...I had a feeling that they might leave me alone", he stared the sky with a lonely eyes.
"Akashi...".
"But playing basketball with you, make me feel at ease, I don't know why...", he trailed off. "You teach me the meaning of basketball, I thank you for that".
"The way he talks...it's like...a farewell....".
"Akashi, what's gotten into you? Creepy", I said sarastically.
"What an ungrateful toy", Akashi glared.
"You want a one on one?", I dared him
He chuckled then stroke my head, "No, thank you".

My mother sudden arrival in Japan indeed surprise me. "Mother, did you know what happen back then?", I questioned her. "Yes, it looks like Akashi unable to tell you anything, what an adorable boy, he's too shy~", my mother said bubbly. Akashi straightly went home, I wonder whether he went home because he didn't want to see my mother.
"Mana-chan...about Aka-kun", my mother started naming Akashi in a weird way.
"Yes?", I asked annoyed.
"Aka-kun is not a bad boy, so don't hate him", my mother smiled.
"I know that...", I blushed slightly.
"Back at junior high school...it's hard for Aka-kun to stay away from you...", my mother stared the table blankly.
"What do you mean?", I asked in curiousity.
"Aka-kun father and your father had a quarrel before...their partnership broke out...and that's why Aka-kun father told him to stay away from you, but even so...Aka-kun still stay by your side...", my mother frowned. "That's why Aka-kun father start to get angry...he wanted Teiko to expel you".
"E-Expel me?", I was shocked.
"Aka-kun family is a noble family, you know how rich they are right? Of course they will be able to expel you...", mother said worried. "Aka-kun grades start falling too".
"Fall you say? In the end he's still rank first if you ask me", I sweatdropped.
"Aka-kun is against that...so he beg his father not to expel you...with a price...", mother frowned.
-Flashback- (Third P.O.v)
"Father, I cannot allow you to do that", Akashi said sternly.
"That woman had poisoned your mind", Akashi father glared intensely.
"I won't accept 'no' for an answer", Akashi was angered by his father action.
"How dare you, are you defying your father?", Akashi father stood up and slapped his son cheek. Akashi glared with a murderous aura that even his father started to feel the chills.
"Adults are so selfish", Akashi said boringly.
"What are you-".
"Stop being so selfish, Mana is my property, do not dare to harm her", Akashi grabbed his father collar. "I've been taking orders from you too much father". Akashi father was dumbfounded by Akashi words. Truly, he realized that his action hurt his son feeling, but of course for him finding money is the most priority thing in the world, he even sacrifice his son feelings.
"Seijuro...you've grown", Akashi father was shocked by the sudden revolt from his son.
"I only want to protect what's mine", Akashi said with emotions filled in his blazing red eyes.
By the time Akashi said this, his father finally realize that Akashi already fell in love with the daughter of the Mayoi household, Mana Mayoi. Afterall love is unpredictable, it strike like a storm, but it also can fade away like the summer breeze as if it never exist. But seeing the resolution in his s8n eye, he realize that his son, Seijuro Akashi is truly love her.
"Your eyes filled with resolution, as your father I respect that resolution of yours", his father said calmly. "But you have to do something in exchange".
"What would that be?", Akashi asked curiously. "You know that our company is on the verge of dying, I want you to be the inheritor of our household and company", his father instructed.
Akashi eyes glimmering with sadness and painful, he knows that if he becomes the successor, he might unable to see her again.
"I will do as you say", Akashi said painfully.
"I heard you had a fight with her", his father said straightforwardly. "You should explain to her about everything if you don't want to hurt her feelings".
Akashi eyes brightened.
"But after that...you will study abroad to America, in order to become my sucessor".
