The Stroll

We started our stroll around midnight
Walking and talking towards the ascending light.
Memories return to the fading sight.

With each step, I remembered the many joys
When we were energetic and young;
When we were Frolicking under the Sun
Until the Moon light was done.
Oh, the forgotten Toys
That laid discarded from our imaginary wars.

Looking back in time
A treasure trove we find
Pleasures that did not last
Thoughts and dreams that did not come to past.
A kiss by the wishing well
Stories yet to tell.
A stroll on Memory Lane
Now that the bliss has wane.

Even as we stroll
To our nebulous goals.
We are tied to our desires
Stepping in the foot steps of our sires.

We have come to realize
To our sagrine and surprise
That we were never free.
We are forever on bended knees.
In subservient, in devotions
And in remembrance of the treacherous oceans.

I started to stroll around Mid-day
Enjoying tremendous  moments along the way.
Shed and unshed tears,
In remembrance of joys and pain,
Evaporating at varying rates
Each linked to different fates.

Standing at the cross-roads
The first step I took
I proceeded without a backward look
My new destiny took hold.
Setting my past dreams adrift
The relief gives an emotional uplift.
