LOVE on LOAN

Love on loan
It is like a dog chasing a bone.
A cat chasing a quail.
Ahab and his  whale.
The crocodile's smile
As he chase Hook for more than a mile.

Love on loan
The emptiness that echoes from a kiss
Through a phone;
The lip is a miss.

A momentary passion when forlorn
A momentary bliss
Meant to be  encapsulated in saliva and spit.
Encapsulated in a kiss
To reminisce and savour when alone.

Loneliness stark me day and night
The shadows hides in the light.

Love on loan
Like a dog chasing a bone
And as real as a kiss via a phone.

You have come and gone.
For you could not stay till the morn.
Fleeting and brief
Like mist in the summer's heat.

What is the value of your  time?
What is the value to soothe my mind?

I close my eyes and I go back in time
Blind to the love that binds.

You are all I need now
But not one to call my own.

I left my heart in a envelope on the window sill;
Just some of the broken pieces for I love you still.
By now you know that I am long gone.
For the the emptiness
And the bitterness
I could not endure until the morn.

Bankrupt dreams
Or so it seems.
It still glitters like gold
While it burns hot as coal.

Reminiscing of the love
That fits like a glove
Until the finger protrude
Vulgar and rude.

Love on loan
chasing a bone.
