Alibaba x Judal

Captivating

Alibaba was chatting with Hakuryuu almost all the way until the reached the village that was supossedly Judal's hometown. It was a small village with not many people and not many fields either. But strangely the fields were well maintained and in full bloom.

Well in such a small village no matter where he was they would find Judal. So Alibaba just began praying inside his mind for Hakuryuu's hunch to be right.

"Ah... ain't that him over there...? What is he doing....?"

Alibaba turned to look at Hakuryuu and then to the place he pointed...

"A-Are you sure it's him....?? I can't seem to imagine Judal do such a thing.... You know it's night so it might not be him!"

Now why were they both looking at the faraway shadow with such disbelief?

The shadow was unmistakably Judal's. Not many have such hair... But the thing was that this shadow was dancing!! And by dancing, not just some light movement but it was dancing almost like that of a professional dancer! And the shadow was surrounded by other people!!

No this could not be Judal.... This is too unbelievable to even imagine.... Both boys thought in unison and glanced with each other.

"S-should we get closer and see...?"

"L-let's do that Hakuryuu.... Maybe it isn't Judal after all...."

They closed in to the group of people. They were singing and dancing, they were holding some kind of "party" for sure.

By doing so they could now see Judal's crimson eyes and pale skin flicker in the light of the fire behind him. Although both were so shocked they kept staring silently their thoughts were slightly differed.

As from some point onward Alibaba forgot his initial shock and concentrated on the dancer's features and moves... Judal was moving his hands and legs around in a graceful manner, a manner that would even compete with the professionals... Soon Alibaba couldn't take his eyes off Judal and kept taking in every gesture that he made. But then he realised what it was on him that made him unexplainably captivating... His expression. Despite the chaotic and tiring moves there was a smile on his face all the time. And his eyes were smiling energetically as well...

Alibaba almost forgot to blink at the time. Finally he was brought back to reality by Hakuryuu's shrug.

"This is Judal no matter how you look at it. But we should not interrupt this party, let's wait here for a while and after most of the citizens are gone we are gonna appear in front of him."

"Y-yeah! Let's do that!!"

Alibaba wanted to hurry up and talk to Judal just a while ago but now he was content just seeing that kind of smile plastered on his face as he swirled around and played with the kids in a dancing manner....

Alibaba had no idea that Judal was good with kids. Well apparently he was. All the children hung around him and he humoured them kindly but in a funny way.

"I guess that is how he wanted to act all this time...." Hakuryuu murmured.

"Eh? What do you mean?"

"He was taken to Kou when he was very young. I always felt it but he was different than the rest of us in Kou... He probably felt the need to go have fun like a commoner would. You could discern it from his rudeness and the overly simple get up, he probably never felt in place in the palace among the royalty..."

"Royalty and commoners aren't so different at heart you know... They are all humans."

"Yeah I know. But royals and nobles do tend to hide their human traits a lot. Judal never did that. He only hid his misfortune and let himself act as childish as he could... He might even have been trying to cheer us all up but we never paid him more attention than a magi or a rude show off.... haha...."

"I guess he had it really rough...."

"Yeah... I should have just let myself be humoured back then... He is really good at handling kids though."

"Well he has retained the child inside him quite well."

"Yeah.... Ah he stopped dancing."

"Hey isn't he looking over here?"

"Could he have seen us?"

"It might be due to the fire but I think he is blushing so he has probably seen us...."

"Well let's wait for him to come here."

"Let's do that."

Judal was by their side in a matter of seconds.

"W-what are you guys doing here!?!?"
