Soonyoung was woken up by bright morning sunlight streaming through the window. He lay there for a second just collecting his thoughts before he remembered, Oh my god Hansol talked to just me yesterday! Just me! And he walked home with me, too! He went out of his way to spend time with just me! He turned his head to see Hansol, who was still asleep, thank god.
Soonyoung got dressed and headed to the living room, where he found Jeonghan talking to a half asleep Jisoo. Jeonghan looked toward Soonyoung as he entered the room.
"You're up early," he said. Soonyoung shrugged and went into the kitchen to find something to eat. He grabbed a bag of chips from a cabinet and tore it open, not bothering to put them in a bowl. He walked back into the living room.
"Wait for breakfast!" Jeonghan scolded. "Kids these days are so impatient." Soonyoung rolled his eyes at that, but didn't deny it. He also didn't remind Jeonghan that he wasn't much older than himself. Soonyoung glanced at Jisoo, who was now resting his head on Jeonghan's shoulder and looked about ready to fall asleep.
He started scrolling through Seventeen's twitter feed, waiting for the other members. Apparently some fans had seen him walking with Hansol. There were a few photos posted, and some Carats were freaking out about something called "Soonsol", which was apparently canon now. Soonyoung googled it. Oh. It was his ship name with Hansol. A small smile appeared on his face. You know, it was actually kinda cute.
At breakfast, Hansol took a seat next to Soonyoung instead of his usual spot next to Seungkwan. Jihoon complained bitterly about Hansol stealing his chair, but moved to Soonyoung's left nonetheless. Soonyoung stared at Hansol, incredulous.
"Uh, hi," was his pitiful attempt at staring a conversation.
"Hi." Hansol smiled and rested his chin in his hand. Soonyoung's heart sped up from the way Hansol looked into his eyes. He turned his face away so Hansol wouldn't see him blush. They spent the rest of breakfast without talking to each other, but Soonyoung would be lying if he said he hadn't seen Hansol sneaking glances at him. Maybe there was hope after all.
Most of the day went by pretty uneventfully, until Wonwoo suggested a random game of Truth or Dare.
"What, why?" asked Mingyu.
"Because," answered Wonwoo. "Because I'm bored and I know we're all bored and what's better than invading people's privacy, right?"
"We're all gonna choose dare."
Wonwoo ignored Mingyu and scanned the room for someone who looked remotely interested.
"Jihoon! Truth or dare?"
Jihoon paused for a second and decided on the riskier option. "Truth."
Wonwoo looked up in thought. "I really thought you were gonna choose dare, let me think. Oh! If you were gonna date one of the members, would it be Soonyoung or Seungcheol?"
"Ew, what kind of a question is that?" Jihoon made a disgusted face. "Soonyoung's my best friend, I don't want to date him! Seungcheol then."
"I thought so," Wonwoo smirked. "You choose someone now."
He looked around the room. Soonyoung was lying on the floor and staring at his phone. He had no idea what was going on around him.
"Soonyoung!" Jihoon shouted. Junhui covered his ears.
"What?" he looked up.
"Truth or dare?"
"Dare!" Soonyoung answered quickly. He was not going to risk having to confess to Hansol because of a stupid game. Jihoon grinned and grabbed a magazine from the couch.
"Eat this!"
Soonyoung narrowed his eyes. "What, no! Are you crazy?"
"Just three pages," Jihoon urged. Soonyoung sighed and took the magazine. He ripped off a piece of the first page and put it in his mouth, making eye contact with Jihoon the whole time as if to say, 'you're terrible, don't you feel guilty?'
"Wonwoo, truth or dare?" he asked through a mouthful of paper. Wonwoo considered the risks for a moment and then replied,
"Truth."
Soonyoung smirked. "Do you like Mingyu? And not as a friend, you know what I mean." Wonwoo was blushing and shaking his head vigorously.
"No, no! What even makes you ask that?"
Soonyoung laughed. "Are you sure about that?"
"Yeah I'm sure! I swear to Jisoos, I don't like him!" Wonwoo yelled. Jisoo looked in Wonwoo's direction.
"Jisoos denies that." Wonwoo glared at him angrily.
"Why did I think this was a good idea?" he whispered under his breath. They continued playing the game, causing Minghao to post nothing but a string of curse words on twitter and Seungcheol to admit that he was the one who ate the last of Jeonghan's sushi burrito. Then it came back around to Soonyoung.
"Soonyoung, truth or dare?" Seungcheol asked.
"Why me!?" asked Soonyoung. "Jun hasn't gone yet, choose him!"
"Truth or dare?" Seungcheol repeated. Soonyoung sighed.
"Dare."
"You're no F.U.N.," Seungcheol groaned and Seungkwan burst into song.
"No F.U.N. 더는 재미 없어 Yeah it's over oh woah!"
"What's the dare then?" Soonyoung asked.
"I dare you to tell me to tell me if you like Hansol!" Seungcheol grinned and Hansol looked toward the rest of the group from his corner of the room. Soonyoung appeared to be really embarrassed by the question. He looked cute.
"You can't do that!" Soonyoung protested. "You can't dare me to tell a truth!"
"Yes I can, and I'll take that as a yes," Seungcheol said triumphantly. Soonyoung's face was turning a deep shade of red.
"I'm done with this game!" he blurted out. He went back to his phone, but he still couldn't get Hansol off of his mind. He probably thinks I'm a complete idiot now. Not to mention he probably knows I like him and what if he doesn't like me? Soonyoung wished he had never gotten involved in this stupid game.
(A/N: This is based on a true story. I have been dared to eat all kinds of things. Paper, plastic, wood, shoes. Not the whole shoe, though. The sole. Or shall I say. . .Seoul? No, sorry. Stay in school, don't do drugs, stan Seventeen, and eat sushi burritos. That's also based on a true story. My sister ate the sushi burrito I was SAVING.)
