Finally, the day when Soonyoung was released form the hospital rolled around. Everyone was really excited, of course. Chan practically threw himself at Soonyoung when he walked in the door.
"Hey!" Hansol exclaimed, "Careful! He just got out of the hospital, you know!"
"Sorry," Chan apologized.
"It's okay," Soonyoung assured him. "Really, I'm fine!"
"Alright," Hansol said, "But I don't want you to overdo it. No dancing for awhile."
"But-"
"Come on, I just want you to be safe."
"Fine," Soonyoung pouted.
Everyone was celebrating Soonyoung's recovery. All the members were thrilled to have him back as energetic as ever. But it was also the day that they found out something unsettling. Maybe he wasn't completely okay after all.
It happened as Jihoon was reaching for a pack of ramen on a high shelf. He dragged a chair over to try to reach, but slipped and fell, sending the chair toppling over. Thankfully, Seungcheol was there to catch him, but the chair crashed onto the ground. Loudly. As loud as . . . a gunshot. Soonyoung had been in the other room and was just coming to help Jihoon, but now he was standing frozen in the doorway. There was a look of panic in his eyes and his breathing was becoming unsteady.
"Soonyoung? Hey, are you okay?" Jihoon approached his friend, who still didn't move. "Soonyoung?" He was starting to become really worried. Something was definitely wrong. Soonyoung's hands were hanging slack at his sides and his eyes looked more scared than he'd ever seen before. "Hansol!" Jihoon called, "Something's wrong with Soonyoung!"
"What!?" Hansol immediately rushed in. "What happened?"
"I don't know! The chair fell and he just froze!"
"Soonyoung, can you hear me?" Hansol approached his boyfriend cautiously, not wanting to startle him and make the situation even worse. He carefully put and arm around his shoulder, which Soonyoung leaned into, but then immediately collapsed onto his knees. Hansol knelt next to him and held him tightly, trying to comfort him.
"Hansol. . ." Soonyoung whispered quietly.
"Yeah, I'm here. Don't worry."
"Hansol. . . help me! I'm going to die!"
"You're okay, you're not going to die. You're safe now, remember?" Hansol was trying to keep his voice as calm as possible, but he was scared. He had no idea what was happening to Soonyoung. He seemed to be in a trance.
"I'm gonna die, I'm gonna die," he kept saying.
"It's okay. No one wants to hurt you. You're safe."
It was almost seven minutes until Soonyoung's breathing evened out again and he was able to process what was going on around him. He looked up at Hansol.
"What happened?"
"I don't know, but you're okay now."
"I can't remember! One minute I was walking into the kitchen and the next I was like this!" Tears welled up in his eyes.
"Shh, it's okay. We're going to figure this out. I won't leave your side."
(A/N: sorry I haven't updated in awhile! I had a lot of ideas for original stories as well as new Seventeen fanfics to get sorted out. Maybe expect some Meanie in the future!)
