Just stick to the plan. Everything will be fine if I stick to the plan. Hansol's palms were sweaty as he pressed the buzzer.
"Hansol? I didn't think you'd actually come!" Sunmin's voice crackled through the speaker. He pulled the door open and stepped into the LED-lit lobby of Sunmin's apartment. He felt claustrophobic in the elevator and could hear each breath bouncing off the metallic walls. The mirrors mocked Hansol's every expression. Sunmin was too eager, throwing the door open and nearly embracing Hansol, who sidestepped just in time. This was going to be a long night.
26 hours earlier
jsm: why won;t you respond to me?
jsm: i just want to talk
jsm: please, hansol, i love you
jsm: stop ignoring me
jsm: we can work things out just talk to me please
Hansol ran a hand through his hair as he read the messages. This was getting insane.
"You can't just block her?" Soonyoung asked, wrapping his arms around Hansol's waist.
"I shouldn't," Hansol sighed. "What if she comes after you again? Or me?" Soonyoung's grip tightened.
"What are you going to do?"
"I don't know. I don't know what she wants from me." Hansol set his phone on the nightstand and turned the ringer off. Good riddance.
"Maybe you should tell the oth--"
"No! No. I don't want them getting caught up in all this. It's already bad enough that she's targeting you."
Soonyoung fidgeted with the hem of Hansol's shirt, his head resting comfortably on his shoulder. Hansol could hear his breathing right next to his ear. It was kind of nice, these small reminders that assured him that Soonyoung was alive and well.
"Maybe you should just. . . talk to her. See what she wants."
"Are you kidding? She's crazy, I can't do that."
"Just try. If she wants to talk, talk. I don't know, make her think she's getting what she wants."
"And then what?"
"I don't know, just try it, please. Don't just to nothing."
Hansol sighed and retrieved his phone once again.
chwenotchew: What do you want?
jsm: I want to talk to you
chwenotchew: that's what we're doing, happy?
jsm: no need to be hostile.
Hansol inhaled deeply. Him? Hostile? When she was the one who shot innocent people when she felt like it?
jsm: I was thinking talk more like as in. . . U come to my place?Dear lord. Ok, this is fine, this is fine. We'll work something out.
"Do you think. . . Um. . . Would she hurt you?" Soonyoung asked hesitantly.
"What!? You don't seriously think this is a good idea, do you?"
Soonyoung figeted with his sleeve. "I-I don't know, I just thought maybe if you give her what she wants--"
"What she wants? Sunmin isn't going to stop until she gets me back right where she wants me. In her arms, acting like I love her. That's what she wants and I'm not going to give it to her!"
"Sorry," Soonyoung mumbled, looking down with his bangs shielding his eyes. Hansol took a sharp breath when he realized what that must have sounded like.
"Oh god no, I didn't mean. . . I didn't mean your idea was bad, I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to yell at you. Oh my god I'm so sorry." Hansol placed both hands on Soonyoung's shoulders to try to comfort him.
"No it's okay, I know you didn't mean it that way."
"It's just that going there could be dangerous. I have no idea what will happen."
"But do you really think she'd hurt you. She. . ." Soonyoung choked on his words, getting them out with considerable difficulty, "she loves you."
"I don't think it's a big chance but I don't know what she's capable of."
"What if you agree and you go visit her but call the police beforehand, you could do it now, and they'll be waiting outside. We could catch her. You'd have to lure her outside somehow and then they could arrest her."
Hansol's eyes widened, then a grin spread across his face.
"You. . . You sir! Are a genius!" He shook Soonyoung's shoulders, who was now also grinning. "This is perfect!"
