Soonyoung eventually stopped going outside altogether. Triggers were hard to avoid; at every loud sound or phone ringing he'd freeze up and find it hard to breathe. The felt himself speaking out of control and it was accelerating. But Hansol hated seeing him like that and began insisting that he leave the house.
"Soonyoung?""Yeah?" He looked up from his laptop, his face peeking out of a cocoon of blankets.
"Let's go somewhere," Hansol suggested. "You haven't been out in ages."
"I'm watching Anohana," Soonyoung answered flatly, making up a lame excuse.
"What? That show is so sad, you need something to lift your spirits."
Soonyoung studied Hansol skeptically. "I really don't--"
"It's a date." Hansol looked at Soonyoung with determination, hiding a cheeky smile. "If you stand me up I'll get offended. And then I might break up with you."
Soonyoung half smiled. "Hm, I guess I couldn't skip a date. . ."
"Right, let's go then?" Hansol phrased it more as a question than a statement.
"Yeah, alright. Where?"
"I heard there's a street market not far from here. It should be fun, right?"
Soonyoung nodded, throwing off his pile of blankets.
The drive over was quiet for the most part, but not uncomfortable. Very far from uncomfortable, actually. It had been awhile since the two were able to get any quiet time by themselves and it was more than acceptable just to enjoy each others' presence silently. As much as they loved all the rest of the members, they were loud- very loud- and excitable. So it wasn't a problem that there was really nothing to say at this moment. And Hansol did catch the glances his boyfriend directed at him every so often. He figured that no matter how long they dated Soonyoung would never lose the capacity to make him blush.
The street market was far from as busy as they'd expected and they weren't sure if that was a good thing. Of course, it was nice with the sort of bustling but hushed atmosphere, but they were easier to spot, as Soonyoung pointed out. Hansol argued that there were fewer people to spot them in the first place and they went back and forth until the small dispute dissolved into laughter. Soonyoung couldn't remember the last time he'd been this happy. On second thought. . . actually, he could. It wasn't so much an exact moment as just a period of time. The short few weeks when he and Hansol started dating, before they had told the public. They hadn't has a care in the world and Soonyoung could swear it was the best time in his life.
The couple ambled through the market at a leisurely pace, looking at the stalls with mild interest. The girl behind a table full of keychains (some of the Seventeen) seemed to nearly have a heart attack when she saw them walk by. As everyone knows, a mere mask can't stop a Carat from recognizing their idol. Needless to say, she got a photo with both stars and it was the best day of her life.
Soonyoung smiled. "I forgot how good that felt. Making someone's day just but existing. I should get out more."
Hansol slapped him lightly on the arm. "That's what I've been telling you!"
"Okay, okay, I'll leave the house and do stuff. Happy?" Soonyoung crossed his arms but he didn't look anywhere near angry with a huge grin on his face. Hansol returned the smile, but his eyes drifted away and his smile faded.
"Stay here, I. . . have something to take care of. . ." he said absently.
"O-okay," Soonyoung said, reluctant to let Hansol go. But he trusted his boyfriend and stood off to the side to wait, fiddling with the SHINee keychain Hansol had bought for him.
Hansol was calm at first, walking slowly, approaching just to get a better look. To make sure his eyes weren't deceiving him. It's not her. It can't be. But the closer he got the more certain he was. He could swear he hadn't thought about her in years. There hadn't been a reason to, his life had been great. And yet all the memories were still there, intact, just waiting to be pulled to the surface again.
"Were you trying to steal him from me? Were you, you bitch?"
She was smiling gently, her long hair hanging in front of her shoulders, bangs partially obscuring her face.
"I'm gonna fucking kill you!"
She was a perfect picture of beauty.
"Hansol is mine, I know what you were trying to do!"
She looked up with her perfect red lips parted slightly in surprise, bringing Hansol back to the present. it was a good thing, too because he didn't really want to remember what happened that night.
"Hansol!" She smiled at him softly. Hansol's expression remained cold.
"Sunmin. What did you do?"
(I haven't updated in so long D: I hope it won't take a long time to resolve this cliffhanger ;) )
