Erika's pov

I woke up early around 5:30 to get ready and have some time left over. I got out of bed and walked into the bathroom. My eye was black and blue and swollen including my cheek. I sighed then got in the shower. After I showered I threw on some comfortable clothes then braided my hair and started packing. By the time I finished packing it was 6:45 so I grabbed a hat then put it on and put my stuff in the hallway. I walked into the kids rooms and said bye to them and kissed their foreheads. Then carried my bag downstairs. As I was about to open the door Sandy walked in so I looked down

Sa:Hey Rik where you going?
E:Home
Sa:Why your supposed to leave tomorrow morning?
E:.....
Sa:Hey look at me

She lifted my chin up and saw my eye and cheek

Sa:Omg who did this to you?
E:I should go
Sa:Erika did Eric do this to you?
E:I really should go
Sa:I swear to god
E:Sandy don't worry about it but I gotta go I'll see you later
Sa:Wait can I at least drive you?
E:I have a ride
Sa:Bye Erika I'm sorry
E:It's fine

I grabbed my bag and walked outside. I waited for my Uber so in the meantime I texted Jake. The Uber got here so I put my bag in then I got in. As the car drove away my dad ran outside and started yelling my name. A tear slid down my face and I called my mom

E:*sniffles* Mom
An:Baby what's wrong?
E:I'm coming home
An:What? Why?
E:He hit me
An:*raises voice* he did wh- *takes a deep breath in* how are you getting home?
E:Jake bought me a plane ticket last night
An:Ok do you want me to pick you up?
E:No Jake is gonna pick me up
An:Alright tell me when you land
E:I will
An:Come straight home
E:*chuckles* I will
An:I love you
E:I love you too

I hung up with my mom then listened to music while I waited to go to the airport. Once I arrived I paid the driver then got out and grabbed my bag. I did the usual thing like checking in my bag, go through security, and then I sat and waited for my plane to board

(20 minuets later)

Speakers:Flight 25 boarding now at gate 4b

I stood up then walked towards the gate. They scanned my ticket then I got on my plane and found my seat. Once I sat down I pulled my hat over my face and closed my eyes. I couldn't fall asleep but it felt good to just close my eyes.

(1 hour later)

The flight attendant went on the speaker and said we landed in Ohio. I put my hat back on and grabbed my bag then walked outside

Jake's pov

When I got up this morning it was 7:30 and I had to pick Erika up around 8:30 ish so I took a shower. After I showered I got dressed and walked downstairs. My mom was cooking breakfast so I sat down at the counter

P:Hey hon why you up early?
J:I gotta get Erika
P:Why?
J:Her dad hit her
P:Omg is she ok?
J:I don't know she called me at 1 last night crying I'll find out later
P:Aw when are you leaving?
J:At 8
P:Ok sweetheart do you want any breakfast?
J:No I have to leave in a minute
P:Alright
