Change

With every new season that is presented to us, wheather in time or in situations occuring in our lives, we recieve the gift of change.
Sometimes we see change like a curse.
We become afraid of change because we have become comfortable in the receptivity of our lives.
Change comes in so many forms, whether that be graduation, moving to a different school, redecorating your room, moving to a different house, gaining friends, losing friends, recovering. However change may present itself, we must still cling to Christ.

I've experienced a lot of change in my life, and let me tell you, I'm not a person who likes change. My sentimental and melancholy personality sometimes prevents me from even enjoying change that is good.
Change is so tough.
Change forces us to put our trust in God and just grip onto Him, closing our eyes tightly.
Change messes with our schedules.
Change turns lives upside down.
But wow, change can be so cool.
Just think about the changing of seasons - that in itself is amazing and incredible. That's a really cool type of change. If you live in a state where all seasons show themselves (summer, spring, fall, winter) - then you're extremely blessed with the reward of newness.
I live in Michigan, so sometimes Winter can become discouraging. The sun hides itself and seasonal depressions creeps into my warm bed. I love rainy days, but that doesn't mean they're always the best for my mood.
But then right when I don't think I can go any further, the sun comes out bright and shining and happy. Good 'ole vitamin D shines on me and I can smile freely despite current life situations.
That kind of change is incredible.
Change is God allowing seasons to ebb in and out with diverse new colors.

Not one day is the same.
Think about that. Not one day is the same. Everyday, something is different - whether that be the temperature, the leaves on trees, etc.
Change is hard, but change is good.
In heaven we will be changed and have no regrets. We will not wish to conform back to our old ways, but instead, we will embrace the God-given change.

The coolest thing is that through this world of change, there is only one thing that stays the same. One thing that never changes.... God.
We change continuously as does the world around us. New laws take place, wrinkles form on our skin, we grow an inch, we lose an inch of hair - we change, but God doesn't.
So grip onto God for he is the one constant that we will ever have in this life.

2nd Peter 3:9 -
"The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance."

 Hebrews 13:8 -
"The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance."

Joshua 1:9 -
"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go" (we do not face change alone).

Ecclesiastes 3:1 -
"For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven"

Deuteronomy 1:6 -
"Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you."
