Lamentations 3:21 -
"This I recall to my mind, therefore I have hope."
Hope is necessary to have in this broken world. It is a from of promise, a form of optimism, and is correlated with faith.
Hope can be described in many ways, but on part I love to focus on is the fact that God's mercies are new every morning. To me, that is truly incredible. For each sunset when we lay our heads to sleep, we are forgiven. Each sunrise that we awake to are a new day to try again.
But here's the thing about hope, it needs a foundation.
Whether the foundation of hope is completely solid or crumbling at the seems... it's a foundation nevertheless. We need to base our hope on God and the prayer of a better life. When we make mistakes, we can fix them. When we feel like we are drowning, we need to grip onto every morsel of hope that we can find within us until we can learn to swim.
Don't give up.
Don't give up on God.
Don't give up on friends.
Don't give up on family.
Don't give up on life.
Don't give up on hope.
