I knew I should be excited and happy, but when I checked my phone for any updates, they were none from Harry.
"Lou, come here!" My little sister, Fizzy called out to me. She was trying to reach a balloon, so I chuckled and took one down for her. She hugged me before running away.
As I walked towards the bar section, I can't help but think maybe I was being too harsh towards Harry. He did nothing wrong, and he did tried to comfort me. But what did I do in return?
I pushed him away, that's what.
I was standing by the bar when a familiar friend of mine approached me. I grinned and we both exchanged hugs. It's been a while since I've last seen him.
"Good to see you again, Lou," Niall patted my shoulder. "And I'm sorry about your mum."
I shook my head. "She's happier now."
Niall grinned.
With glasses in our hands, we talked for almost 30 minutes until Lottie came to me. She and Niall exchanged friendly gestures before she faced me.
"I want you to meet some people."
So I followed her and met a few of her friends. Apparently most of them were single, and I kinda saw through her evil plan. Well, maybe not so evil, but I wasn't planning on getting into a relationship anytime now.
My heart squeezed painfully.
I shouldn't be thinking about Harry now. Today was Lottie's big day. I should be thinking about her happiness, not mine.
But Harry...
I squeezed my eyes shut and mentally cursed.
Fuck this.
"Lots," I gently tugged on her arm and I gained her full attention. "There's something I need to do. Please excuse me?"
She didn't seem pleased at first, but she sighed and nodded her head.
Once I was alone, I decided to give Harry a call - something that I couldn't imagine myself doing after pushing him away just like that.
He didn't answer, so I called again.
And again, and again, and again.
"Louis."
I broke into full sobbing after hearing his voice after a long time. I covered my mouth with the back of my hand to prevent more sobs from escaping, but I was failing.
"Harry."
"What do you want?"
It was difficult to hear him since there were children screaming and running around, so I headed off to a mini garden where no one was around.
"I need to talk to you."
"There's nothing to talk about."
I hated how cold he was being, though I knew it was entirely my fault that he was acting this way.
"Please, Haz."
"Don't call me that."
I instantly shut up.
"Don't call me to apologise, Louis, because I don't want to hear that."
"Harry -"
"It hurt, Louis. I was always there for you. Why did you push me away? Was I a burden to you? Was I annoying? Was I making your life miserable? If so, why didn't you tell me in the first place?"
"I didn't... I don't think -"
"I liked you!"
What...
"I liked you a lot, Lou," He sobbed. "But you were too blind to see it, weren't you?"
"Haz." I whimpered.
"You could've pushed me away from the beginning. Before I fell."
"Sorry...," I cried. "I'm sorry."
"Sorry wouldn't change anything now, would it?"
I gulped.
I quickly wiped away the tears when I saw Lottie approaching me. She motioned for me to come over, and so I did. The children were already gone, so I could still hear Harry.
"I'm disappointed in you."
"I know," I told him. "I know, Harry, I know."
I was losing sight of Lottie, so I quickened my pace and slid through two men.
"Goodbye, Louis."
I froze.
I froze because I swore I heard his voice, not through the phone, but his actual voice.
Harry had already hung up when I glanced at my phone. The voice was still clear in my mind, so I turned my head to search for the person.
To my luck, I found no one. Well, not that I would because we've never met. Funny how I could hear his actual voice in real life.
I shook my head.
Maybe I missed him too much.
"I'd like you to meet someone." Lottie tugged on my arm and I turned my head to face her.
My eyes were probably red and puffy, but when I saw the familiar head of curls, my eyes widened.
"Flower boy?"
He looked sad, but he flashed me a small smile and nodded his head.
"Confused boy."
"Oh, you know each other already?" Lottie cheered. "So I assume you already know each other's names?"
We both shook our heads simultaneously.
"We met once in a florist."
"The apartment, actually." He corrected.
I blushed. "Right."
"Well then," My sister giggled excitedly and placed a hand on my shoulder.
"This is my brother, Louis Tomlinson," Then she faced me. "And this handsome lad here is Harry Styles."
Both our eyes widened.
