I soon sat down beside one of the buildings in the place I had approached earlier. I groaned and exhaled sharply. I closed my eyes, and slumped down, putting my back into an uncomfortable position. I let go of the handle of the bag. The back of my head scraped against the wall as my head and back slid further down. I opened my eyes and eventually stood up. I was exhausted.
"What was I even thinking?", I whispered to myself, "My head is already clear..."
I shook my head. No, it isn't.
"Ugh, I really just need to think."
I stood up and grabbed the bag again. I started to walk towards a tall building, that looked like a hotel, with a fancy cursive name attached to the building, above the entrance. The words were painted red. I knew it was a hotel, I'd seen it before. I smiled with pride and walked into the building. I walked up to the counter in the lobby, where a lady with curly blonde hair sat, doing something on a computer, which was directly in front of her face.
"Could I get a room? How much do they cost per day? How much does the food cost?", I blurted out in one big heap.
"Slow down, ma'am.", The lady said, her voice very soft.
"How much do the rooms cost, as well as the food?", I said again, slower.
"The rooms cost at the most $100 per day, depends on room service, how much food you order, how many pillows and sheets you get if you use the alarm clock or radio. Stuff like that. This place is pretty cheap though, to be honest."
"Alright, could I rent a room?"
"Just need to sign some papers. You would be able to get room 204.", She took out the keys to the room and smiled.
She took papers out from under her desk and slid them across to me.
"Go ahead and fill those out. It doesn't take too long.", She said.
I went to a chair against the wall, and sat down, filling out the paper. I probably had to fill out the paper because I hadn't made a reservation before. I sighed. I filled it out and walked back up to the counter. The lady tossed me the keys after reading through the papers. I caught the keys just barely. I walked to the elevator, and stood inside, with awkward instrumental music playing inside. I pressed the 'floor two' button on the board of five numbers. I reached the floor and walked to my room.
I unlocked the door and opened it. I put down my things near the door and took off my shoes. I walked over to the bed and jumped on it. I gripped a pillow, smashing my face into it. I felt my face get hot, and my eyes burn.
I didn't know how I could solve everything going on inside my head, just by thinking it out. It seemed impossible.
Little did I know, maybe I just wanted to walk away from everything for a while. Everything, not just what had happened in the past day. I had never really taken the time to think about my life. Maybe now was my chance. I sighed and loosened my grip on the pillow. I lifted my face from the pillow. I took my phone out of my pocket and looked at the text messages I had gotten. Obviously, they would have texted me or tried to call me. But I don't feel like calling them. I went to my messages.
I'm sorry if I did anything to hurt you. Just, come back soon. Take your time to think., Lukas texted me.
I didn't respond to his text.
Why would you leave without me? Anahi texted.
Obviously, she was trying to be funny about it.
Whoops, forgot to pack you in my bag., I texted back.
I didn't look at any others. I turned off my phone. I put it on my bedside table.
I laid down on my side, and closed my eyes, hoping I could go to bed. I really wanted to sleep.
