"Where are they!?", I yelled, throwing out my arms.
"Yeah, they're totally making out.", Anahi said, crossing her arms.
"No, they're not!", I screamed at her.
My hands started to shake. If Kaylee had done something, I didn't know what I would do. I probably wouldn't do anything, just cry.
I eventually heard a car horn honk. I jumped up, and ran for the door, swiftly opening it. I saw Kaylee and Lukas arguing inside of the car. The honk had come from Lukas being smacked into the steering wheel by Kaylee. He looked out of the car window helplessly.
I ran to the car and slammed my fist against the window.
"Stop smacking him into the steering wheel, Kaylee!", I screamed through the car window, feeling my heart ache.
"If you knew what he did, you wouldn't be telling me to stop!", She screamed back, still hitting him.
I screamed at her again. My head hurt. Lukas put his arms up, trying to block his face. Kaylee then stopped and opened the car door on her side.
"What did he do?", I asked Kaylee as she walked past me.
"It isn't really important, I overreacted.", She huffed.
Her tone of voice was convincing, but I knew she was lying. She always lied. I couldn't think of what he had done. The worst things I could think of, I knew he wouldn't do.
I crossed my arms behind my back, waiting for Lukas to exit the car. He opened the door, and stepped out slowly, staring into my eyes. He seemed uneasy.
I kept a placid expression on my face. He walked past me, his arms crossed. He glanced at me, staring right through me. I knew something was seriously wrong. About a week ago, he wasn't like this at all. I definitely suspected it before, but I never did anything about it.
"What did you do with Kaylee...", I mutter as he reaches the door.
"Hm?", He turns his head.
"What did you do... with Kaylee?", I say a bit louder.
"Nothing."
"I know you did something. Just tell me.", I plead.
"It's nothing.", He stays calm.
"Lukas. Tell me.", I ball my hands into fists.
I looked directly into his eyes. I felt anger boiling up inside me, but also fear and anxiety. What did he do, that would make Kaylee smash him into a steering wheel. He should tell me. Lying and holding in secrets isn't something that is healthy for relationships.
He stared back into my eyes. It seemed as if they burned with fury. I felt startled but didn't show it.
"Amanda, Just leave it be! I did nothing with Kaylee, period!", He screamed at me.
I felt my heart stop. He was lying. I knew he was lying. He did something with her. The worst things I could think of, maybe he could do.
"Just, please. Stop bothering me about it. Nothing happened. If you don't trust me, don't talk to me.", He said calmly.
I felt nothing inside of my body. No emotion. I felt my eyes burn. I was going to cry. I needed to get out of there, or he would see me cry. That's the last thing I want right now.
"Okay, fine. Whatever.", I said, my voice shaking a bit.
Lukas walked in the other direction.
I walked to the door, hovering my hand over the doorknob. My eyes stung. I hadn't blinked in over 30 seconds and hadn't noticed. I blinked, holding my eyes closed until the pain stopped. I opened my eyes, feeling hot tears run down my cheeks.
I had a feeling that the others were eavesdropping, so I didn't want to go back into the dorm.
I turned away from the door, keeping my hands to my sides. I still felt no heartbeat inside of me. I felt like I would never feel one again.
I felt like I was running away all over again as I started to sprint down the sidewalk, not knowing where I was going. I felt a fire burning inside of me. It felt intense, like satisfaction. It made me forget everything until I started to think again. I sprinted until my legs gave out, my knees buckled, and I fell to the ground, breathing unsteadily.
I gained back my strength and stood back up. I started to walk, and catch my breath.
I then thought about what Kaylee would do. Would she tell me what Lukas had done, or would she lie and try to deceive me again?
I didn't know.
