We all went to my dorm to talk, trying to cheer ourselves and the others up. We played games like Monopoly, Life, Scrabble, and Truth or Dare. I have to admit, I felt kind of selfish while we were playing all these games, having fun and laughing, while Lucy was dead. I mean, we were just trying to forget about this whole mess, because we didn't want to be fixed onto this one thing the whole rest of our lives. If we were-- at least, if I was-- fixed onto her death, I would be an emotional mess for eternity.
We had some fun questions and dares for Truth or Dare. I'm not going to go into a lot of detail, because nothing that interesting really happened. I learned a lot about Lukas, because the others had pretty good questions to ask when he said Truth. I mostly did Truth, because I didn't want anything weird to happen. I guess I was just paranoid.
Soon after we started playing Monopoly, Sam brought up the idea that all of us could have a sleepover. Some of them agreed to the idea, but Me, Lukas, and Anahi seemed hesitant. I didn't know Anahi's reasoning, but I knew mine. I had an idea for Lukas's. Mine was, I didn't want my friends to do anything to Lukas. I knew my friends would do something while we were sleeping. That's just what they do. I think that Lukas's reasoning is fairly easy to find out, having a sleepover with a bunch of girls isn't really something a dude would want to do.
Eventually, Anahi agreed. I was still nervous, thinking of all of the things that could go wrong, and I was 90% sure that Lukas wouldn't do it.
"Come on, you two! Please?", Kaylee said pleadingly.
"I'm still thinking!", I responded quickly.
"I mean, is it really a wise decision for me to have a sleepover with a bunch of girls?", Lukas asked.
Everyone glanced at each other because of his comment.
"Not really, but it's not like we'll do anything to you.", Nairi commented.
Lukas shrugged, "Then I guess I'm in."
"Amanda, if he's in, what excuse do you have?", Anahi said.
"I don't have an excuse.", I mumbled.
"Does that mean you're in?"
"I guess..."
I felt my stomach squeeze. I just knew they would do something bad. They said they wouldn't do anything. Pft, like I would believe that for a second.
"Are we going to get our stuff from our dorms?", Lukas asked.
"Go ahead. The only people that need to leave are you, Kaylee, and Sam.", Anahi answered.
Lukas and Kaylee stood up. I guess Sam would go later.
"Hurry up, because we can't play Monopoly without you.", I said.
They left the room.
"You guys are totally going to do something.", I retorted.
"What?", Nairi said.
"You're going to do something with me and Lukas.", I repeated.
"No... we're not.", She said firmly.
"Maybe not you, but I do not trust Anahi in the slightest.", I glanced at Anahi.
"How come!?", Anahi said frantically.
"You always tease me, and do stupid things when Lukas isn't looking!", I snarled at her.
"What makes you say I'll do something to you now? I know that this is an uncomfortable situation for you both! You have to sleep in the same place, possibly even next to each other.", She said, "Though I don't know why you're still so nervous. You need to get used to each other. You're soulmates, for crying out loud."
She whispered that last part, but I could still hear it. I glared at her.
Sam stayed completely silent. Soon, our silence became awkward. Lukas and Kaylee eventually came back, opening the door while they were mid-conversation. Kaylee sounded a bit worried while she talked to Lukas.
"Welcome back to hell.", Nairi mumbled.
"What happened?", Kaylee asked, rolling her eyes.
"It's nothing, just something dumb.", Nairi said.
Kaylee put her stuff to the side and sat back down at the table. Lukas did the same. I wondered what they talked about. Lukas seemed a bit different, more quiet. He hadn't spoken once since he walked in the door.
We continued our game. Anahi yawned at one point. We were getting tired.
"Hey, let's take a break and do something else.", I said.
"Like what?", Sam asked.
"We all like drawing...", Anahi said.
"Oh, yeah, we do.", Kaylee said.
"I wanna go to bed.", Lukas said, "It's already 11:00 PM."
"Good point. Who wants to go to bed?", I asked.
Lukas and Kaylee raised their hands.
"On a daily basis, I stay up until like 4:00 AM.", Anahi said calmly.
"4:00 AM!?", Lukas said, his eyes widening.
"I stay up until 1:00 AM.", Nairi said.
"I don't sleep.", Sam said wittily.
"I think we should go to bed, guys.", Kaylee said firmly.
"I don't really want to, but I also think we should.", I said.
"Fine.", Nairi and Sam agreed.
"I'll just watch stuff on my phone.", Anahi shrugged.
We started to get set up. I laid blankets and pillows across the living room floor, scattered to make a tiny area of comfiness. Some of us had sleeping bags and pillows and blankets of our own, so we laid those out too.
"Looks nice.", Lukas said, yawning.
I plopped onto the little area and grabbed a pillow. I hugged the pillow and pulled a blanket over me.
"Welp, I'm ready for bed.", I said.
Lukas, Kaylee, and Nairi all crawled onto the area and spread out. Anahi and Sam followed. I turned on a fan, that blew across the area, so we didn't sweat to death. We all bundled up in burritos, poking out arms and legs to be cool. I turned off the light in the living room.
We all started to fall asleep. I kept one eye open, knowing that they would pull some kind of prank, or do something really stupid.
After a few minutes of complete, dark silence, I heard shifting around me. I closed both my eyes, making sure that they didn't see my eyes were open. I felt arms wrap around me. I opened both of my eyes, feeling my face get hot. I turned my head slowly, making out a shape in the darkness. Lukas.
His eyes were wide open. I couldn't see, but I could tell his face was bright red.
"What're you doing?", I asked, resisting my urge to laugh.
"I was cold."
"It's 70 degrees outside, Lukas."
He sighed and moved his arms away from me. I instantly felt the warmth go away. I felt a little sadness boil inside of me.
"Why'd you let go?", I asked, without a trace of nervousness.
"I thought that you felt uncomfortable.", He said.
"I wasn't uncomfortable. Do whatever you want.", I said casually.
He scooted a little closer to me, but he didn't wrap his arms back around me. I eventually fell asleep, with the wind of the fan blowing in my face.
