During the class, I was so stiff and anxious that I couldn't focus properly. I still managed to make progress on the drawing, but not as much progress as I had hoped.
The class felt like it was going on for ages. I had occasional glances in Lukas's direction, but he only seemed to be paying attention to his tablet. I mean, it wasn't like I was surprised, because he had a lot to catch up on.
After class ended, I quickly walked out of the room and waited for Kaylee. I grabbed her wrist, and speed walked to the bathroom.
"What are you doing?", She asked me, looking over her shoulder.
"The new kid, Lukas."
"Yeah, what about him? You think he's pretty or something?"
I glared at her, and she smirked.
"My string is connected to his hand. We're soulmates, apparently.", I said quickly.
"Oh... Wow..."
"What do I do? Go and talk to him? Do you think he noticed it during class?"
"I mean, obviously he would have noticed. The string is kind of connected to his hand."
I nodded. Yeah, obviously he would have seen it.
Kaylee had a small smile on her face. She had been waiting for me to find my soulmate ever since she found hers. His name was Tyson.
I walked out of the bathroom after Kaylee, and the others were standing in the hallway, waiting for us. I saw him again. His eyes shimmered with pride. I guessed that he had made good progress in the class. He looked over to someone and nudged them. The person he nudged had a Rubix Cube in hand. They handed it to him, and he solved it easily. They smiled, and thanked him.
I walked over to my friends, who were starting to walk down the hallway, and saw Kaylee telling them about what I had just told her.
"Wow, spreading the news to them already?"
"I mean, what else am I supposed to do? Wait until they see you making out in the janitor's closet?", She asked jokingly.
I looked at her with wide eyes, my face turning red. Anahi chuckled, and Lucy tried to keep from laughing.
"Amanda, you have to admit. That was genius.", Lucy said.
I nodded and started to laugh a tiny bit. We split up into groups. Me, Lucy, and Nairi had our next class together, thankfully. Anahi and Kaylee had different classes than us, which made me a little sad. They made things fun, and they always brought up weird things to talk about, that made everyone laugh.
We started walking towards our next class.
"So, are you going to try talking to him?", Nairi asked me.
"I mean, yeah? Isn't that something you need to do with your apparent soulmate?"
We reached the class after a little bit of talking. Nairi opened the door, and I walked in. And right there, sitting at one of the tables, was Lukas.
