I woke up, hearing small snickers come from around me.
"Whatcha doing, Amanda?", Anahi teased.
I felt Lukas's arms still wrapped tightly around my stomach. I felt my face get hot, really hot. I laughed nervously.
"Really, nothing happened...", I said calmly.
"Uh, then, what am I seeing right before my eyes? That's something.", She said.
"He was cold, he said it himself."
"'Cold', yeah...", She raised her eyebrows.
I groaned.
"Nothing happened. Why are you even still teasing me about these things? You've been teasing me since middle school!", I said, getting angrier by the second.
"Okay, okay, calm down."
"Why should I!?", I screamed.
I was staying completely still, trying not to wake up Lukas. I don't know my logic behind that, because yelling and/or screaming would also cause him to wake up.
Nairi decided to bump into our argument.
"Guys, stop arguing. You're just going to make it worse. And, with all of this screaming, Lukas will wake up, and it'll be even more awkward.", She hissed.
"Oh, shut up, Nairi!", Anahi yelled.
"This is why I never have sleepovers with a bunch of people.", Someone muttered.
I covered my face with my palms. I felt so embarrassed. I could feel Lukas shifting in his sleep. He would wake up anytime now.
"Guys, he's gonna wake up! I knew this was a horrible idea!", Kaylee whisper-screamed.
"I agree...", I mumbled.
I couldn't move, or he would definitely wake up. I exhaled sharply as I heard a very abrupt turn, and groaning coming from the side of me.
"Oh god!", Kaylee screeched.
"Oh god indeed...", I whispered inaudibly, feeling all air leave my lungs in one motion.
"Good morning...", Lukas mumbled, pulling his arm away from me to wipe under his tired eyes.
"Um, good morning to you too.", Anahi said.
Lukas looked around, and his eyes widened. He quickly moved away from me, rolling to the side awkwardly. He stood up slowly. I felt a warm area on the side of my stomach, where his hand was.
I moved my knees close to my chest, falling to the side in a heap.
"Leave me to die.", I said weakly.
Kaylee sighed, and kneeled down next to me, laughing breathlessly.
"Get up...", She said, relaxed.
"Make me."
She grabbed my arm and pulled it to a point where it felt unbearable.
"Anahi, Nairi, Sam, help me out here."
Anahi was the first to step forward. She pulled one of my arms over her shoulder. Nairi came over and grabbed my waist. Sam helped support the others. They all hoisted me up.
"Ugh.", I groaned.
They all let go, and I stood shakily.
"Sorry for the... whole, awkward situation.", Lukas apologized.
"It's nothing.", Kaylee said.
He smiled a bit, a humiliated smile.
"You know, guys, we should go out and do something!", Sam blurted out.
"Where? What would we do?", Kaylee questioned.
"Ice cream place? Pizza place? The park? I'm just saying, there are many options."
"We should go to a pancake house, I mean, it is breakfast time, right?", I ask.
"True, true. Everyone, get ready, we're going to Teardrop Pancake House!", Kaylee yelled excitedly.
I walked into my room, to get clothes out of my closet. I was about to go into the bathroom when Lukas walked in.
"Hey, could I use your bathroom quickly?", He asked.
"Uh, sure. Just, hurry up in there."
He nodded, a little too fast, and walked into the bathroom. I sat down on my bed, twiddling my thumbs, waiting for him to finish. I counted the seconds as they passed by.
Eventually, he said through the thing wooden door, "I'm done. Can I come out?"
"Yeah, go ahead."
He walked out, in beige-colored shorts, and a red T-Shirt that said, "Even duct tape can't fix stupid, but it can muffle the sound." I smirked at the remark.
I stood up, and walked into the bathroom, closing and locking the door behind me. I changed into a flannel shirt that I had cut the sleeves off of a few years back, and jean- shorts that went down to my knees, as well as a belt. I undid my hair and saw tangles everywhere. I quickly brushed out the tangles, and decided to leave my hair down for once. I saw the small tattoo I had gotten back when I was eighteen years old. A small heart on my left shoulder, coming from the phrase, "I wear my heart on my shoulder." I always thought it was a clever idea. I had also gotten a small heart on the left side of the wrist of my left arm, coming from my childhood.
The heart on my wrist represented a heart I always drew right there as a kid. It also represented where my pulse was. It didn't have too much meaning, but I still like it. I walked out of the bathroom, going to the living room. I had my wallet in my pocket. I sat on the couch, waiting for the others to get dressed. Lukas also sat on the couch.
"Sam and Kaylee take forever.", I groaned.
He laughed. "Women, right?"
"I know."
Anahi and Nairi were at the kitchen table, having a quiet conversation.
Sam walked out of the room she was in, wearing a pair of leggings, and a shirt that had cat ears on it. She also had cat ears on her head.
"What do you think Kaylee's doing in the bathroom?", I asked loudly, speaking to everyone in the room.
"Maybe she's on her--", Sam looked at Lukas, stopping, "Period...", She finished quietly.
Stifled laughs came from everyone in the room.
We then sat in a completely mute room for about 3 minutes, until Kaylee came out, wearing a wavy shirt with no sleeves, just held on by her chest. She wore jean-shorts with a lace design on them.
For the most part, everyone's outfits were casual. Anahi wore black leggings, a grey shirt, and the flower-patterned hoodie she always wore, even when it was boiling outside. Nairi wore something similar to Kaylee, except she had flimsy spaghetti straps also holding up the shirt. Kaylee's shirt was a cream color. Nairi's was a cool grey. Nairi also wore shorts that went down to her knees.
"Everyone has their wallets, phones, essential stuff?", I asked.
Everyone nodded their heads.
"Let's go."
