Shuichi didn't know what to say. Himiko, being that this was her home, was unfazed. Shuichi had never been too fond of the supernatural, especially after that day... He looked at Himiko for an explanation but wasn't met with one. As she walked around, he followed, unsure of what to do. It didn't once cross Himiko's mind that Shuichi wouldn't be comfortable being here. He actually kind of wished he stayed with the assassins. Kirumi did send him there. Himiko took noticed of Shuichi's anxiousness.
You okay," she asked.
"Yeah," he replied, nodding. "It just... brings back memories."
"Memories of what?" He hesitated. How could he explain it? This Himiko wouldn't understand.
"It's nothing. Anyways, why are we here?"
"Safest place here. Didn't think you'd want to go back to get assassinated."
"They only attacked because you brought attention to us."
"I was making an entrance." Himiko crossed her arms. "Besides, at least I got you out of talking to Kokichi. Surprise you held a conversation with him for that long." Shuichi gave her a questioning look.
"How long did you watch us?"
"I was watching since you walked into the maze."
"What the fuck? Stalk much?"
"Hey, when a random stranger just walks into their doom, how can I be expected not too watch?" Shuichi laughed.
"What, does this world not have tv?"
"Pfft! Tv? Why would I watch that when whatever goes on at the castle is way better."
"Then your tv must suck because wow was it empty there." We laughed before she stopped. She looked at him deadly serious.
"It was empty?" He gave her a confused look.
"Yeah? I thought you said you were watching me?"
"I may have gotten distracted." She looked down, blushing. "Anyways, it shouldn't-"
"Ah, Himiko, there you are," yelled a guy with black and brown hair. "It is time we start the summoning."
"In a minute, Gundham."She paid no attention to him. The guy looked annoyed so Shuichi said something.
"You can go," he said. "I'll just wait here."
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah, I'll be fine." Himiko nodded then walked off with Gundham.
Shuichi looked around, checking out a nearby ritual going on. Korekiyo was in the center of it, saying something. Shuichi growled at the sight of him. It was hard for him to remind himself that his guy was different. He hasn't done any of those things the other one did. At least, as far as Shuichi knew. Kokichi was still a liar and Maki was an assassin. Most likely Korekiyo was still obsessed with his sister.
He watched as Korkiyo screamed and started holding his head. When he looked back up, his mask flew off. Shuichi knew exactly what happened and wondered if something similar happened in his world. Was this when those two become one?"
"Hello there," Angie said, jumping in front of him. Shuichi jumped.
"Angie, you scared me," he said, sighing.
"Hey, how'd you know my name? Did Atua tell you?" Shuichi shook his head.
"Nah. Lucky guess. Anyways, what's with that ritual?" He pointed at possessed Korekiyo.
"Funny you ask because we needed someone to help us." She grabbed his arm and pulled him to it.
"Wait! I don't know how to do this stuff!"
"You don't need to. We'll do everything. You just have to stand." She made him stand in between two people. "Don't miss your cue."
"Cue?" Korekiyo's eyes landed on him, narrowing. Shuichi tried to move, too freaked out to want to stay. But his body wouldn't move. It was like he was stuck.
"You," Korekiyo said, pointing his finger at Shuichi. "You're not from here. You're an outsider." Everyone started whispering. "You would make a perfect sacrifice." Shuichi's eyes widened, suddenly realizing why Angie brought him there.
"W-wait," Shuichi yelled. "I didn't sign up for this!"
"Neither did I when dying."
"B-but wouldn't you prefer a girl?"
"Yes, but an outside with suffice."
The two people by Shuichi tried pushing him in. He screamed, hoping someone would stop this. Suddenly, everyone stopped and turned their attention to the people that were approaching them. It was Kaede and Rantaro.
"Angie," Kaede said. "Release him."
"Hmm Atua say I don't have to," Angie replied.
"I don't care what Atua said. Release him or we shoot. Wouldn't want more of Atua's precious worshippers to die, would you?" No one moved. Kaede and Rantaro started to shoot. The two people holding Shuichi let him go. He ran to Kaede.
"You will regret this," Angie said.
The three walked off, away from the occult. None of them said anything. Shuichi kept sneaking glances at Kaede, trying not to cry. Back there she seemed like a totally different person. This Kaede didn't care who got hurt as long as she got what she wanted. But, it still looked like Kaede. Same hair, same face, same innocent smile, all of it. And it pained Shuichi to know it wasn't really her. Without thinking, he burst into tears and hugged her.
"What are you doing," she asked.
"I... I'm sorry," Shuichi said, letting her go. "You just... remind me of someone." Shuichi wiped his tears. "She's... dead."
"Oh." They stood there awkwardly.
"So you're an outside," Rantaro asked. "That's what it called you, right?"
"Yeah but I don't know if that's what I am," Shuichi said. "What's an outsider?"
"No clue. Was hoping you knew."
"I'll ask Kirumi later."
...
"Kirumi?"
