Screams erupted throughout the castle as weapons were thrown. Shuichi ran as fast as he could, shouting for someone to help. But no one came. Instead, people went about their business paying little to no attention to him. Miu and Kiibo continued to throw various knifes and shooting with a gun every now and then, shouting the a casual taunt. Having never been in this mansion before, he easily got lost, sometimes going in circles about five times. But that wasn’t the worst part. Shuichi felt close to passing out, surrendering to death. And the two knew it, throwing double the knives as motivation.
“W-where are they k-keeping all the k-knives,” Shuichi asked himself.
Just as he was about to drop to the ground, a figure quickly grabbed him and dragged him down a different hall, losing Miu and Kiibo for a second.
“How many times am I going to have to save you,” Kokichi yelled, laughing a bit.
A gunshot went off, the bullet barely missing Kokichi’s head and causing Shuichi to duck. In seconds, he lost his balance and fell to the ground, taking Kokichi with him. Pain shot through Kokichi, the damage from the previous fight catching up to him. Moving became hard. Neither were in any shape to run or fight. Miu and Kiibo soon stood above them, laughing.
“Giving up so soon,” Miu asked, smirking. She put her foot on Kokichi’s throat. “Look at this! The ‘supreme leader’, helpless under my boot! I bet I’ll be rewarded if I kill you and smash your clock to pieces. Can you imagine, Kiibo?”
“Of course,” Kiibo said, emotionless as usual. He took his gun and shot Miu’s leg, releasing Kokichi’s neck. Kokichi gasped for air.
Miu fell, holding her leg. “Betrayal!” She laughed before starting to shoot at him.
The two attempted to kill each other, not coming close to succeeding. Bullets flew everywhere, never seeming to end as they slowly traveled away from the two on the floor. Shuichi watched in horror before turning to Kokichi, who had a annoyed expression on his face.
“That bitch actually thought she was going to kill me,” Kokichi muttered, barely heardable. “But it wouldn’t have even been a true victory! How boring.”
“Kokichi,” Shuichi said, sighing. “Lets… let's get going!”
As soon as Shuichi tried to pick Kokichi up, a gunshot went off, louder than the other ones. Kaede stood in the middle of everything, putting her gun down.
“You all have five minutes to clean this room up or everyone gets a bullet to the head,” she yelled.
Everyone, except Kokichi, immediately got to work, picking up all the bullets; Shuichi making sure to keep his head down in the process. Though, unfortunately, he didn’t go unnoticed. Kaede grabbed him by his ahoge, pulling his head up.
“Great to see you again, outsider,” she said in a cheery tone. “Been doing good? Heard you’re wanted by the queen of assassins.”
Shuichi was frozen, unable to say anything. Fortunately, he didn’t have to as Kokichi grabbed onto him and pulled him away.
“Keep your hands off of him,” he spat, glaring daggers to hide his pained expression from standing up too fast.
“Oh? Kokichi! What a lovely surprise!” She slowly lifted her gun to his head.
“Stop,” Shuichi shouted, grabbing onto her gun. He couldn’t handle the fighting anymore. “Look! He is injured! And you think now is the time for one of your games!?”
She let out a small laugh. “This isn’t a game. This is war.”
Shuichi went silent for a second. “War?”
“Of course! That’s why we're always fighting and carrying weapons!”
“Y-you…” He didn’t know how to respond.
“Kokichi is an enemy. This is how the world works.” She gave an innocent smiled as she patted his head. “Now, stand aside.”
He grabbed her hand before smacking the gun away. “No. I-i… I don’t care. Killing is wrong.”
She rolled her eyes. “What? It’s not like I’m breaking his clock. He’ll be fine.”
“Fine!? I may not understand this world but killing is still killing!”
“Shuichi-” Kokichi choked out.
“NO. I’m not letting you die.”
“You’re all boring me,” Kaede said, yawning. “So how about a deal? You answer all my questions, and I’ll call the nurse to help Kokichi.”
Shuichi narrowed his eyes. “How do I know you’ll keep your side of the deal?”
“Easy. I’ll have the nurse heal him first.” She clasped her hands together.
“And how do I know you won't have her kill him?”
“Because she doesn’t work for me.” She said it as if it was the most obvious thing ever. “Now, do we have a deal?”
