a singer goes missing for four months till his body winds up in a ditch 25 miles away from
home.

everybody thought he was dead.

but boy, could they be any more wrong.

just the soothing headlights and the full glimpse of the moon gave josh the freedom to see the road ahead. the crunching of the gravel beneath his tires gave him some sort of relief in a sense, miles upon miles of trees on both sides of him.

only when he saw the body did he slam the gas breaks.

just a lifeless body on the side of the road like some sort of ragdoll some kid didn't want. he could only see the bloodstained clothing from his headlights, and he only assumed the worse. cautiously getting out of his car and walking up towards the body.

it looked like some sort of animal ripped away at his throat, no other bruises littered his body, just the neck.

he was bending down to get a better look.

he knew this person was long gone by the pale looking feature and the sunken eyes, but somehow he looked familiar, josh couldn't place his finger on it.

just before he could get back in the safety of his car, the wind was knocked out of him as he laid bewildered on the gravel road with the not so dead looking person straddling him. red piercing eyes looked down at josh's brown ones, weird-looking teeth protruding from the boy's lips as he smiled.

"gosh humans are so gullible, what are you doing out here all by yourself?"

the terrified yellow hue could say no words, the boy clicking his tongue before hungrily looking at the vulnerable neck teasing him to sink his teeth in.

"what's your name?"

"j-joshua.."

the boy smiled.

"tyler, a pleasure to meet you."

the boy got off, not even waiting for josh to process anything before helping him up.

"what you just saw didn't happen,"

tyler said calmly while looking josh in the eyes.

"you were driving home from work, and you took the long route so you could have some time to yourself until a deer jumped out, but you didn't hit it. you stopped abruptly just to make sure no more were coming before going on your way."

and just like a mindless puppet, josh walked right back to his car and drove off.
