"my mother wants to meet you." tyler blurts out unexpectedly which josh stared wide-eyed before choking on the taco he was eating.

its been a week since tyler encountered his mother while at joshs house and josh could only notice the way tyler was clingy physically but mentally tyler was distracted. josh didn't know what happened between tyler and his mother and every time he asked, tyler would blow it off and kiss him.

tyler was instantly at the boy's side, rubbing his back as josh coughed and wheezed before fully calming down.

"w-what do you mean?" tyler didn't answer the question right away, averted his gaze away from josh before taking a deep breath.

"my family doesn't know about you and I, I've been....protecting you from them. my mother and father aren't fond of me dating a human, especially a human that knows what we are, so I've been avoiding them. m-my mother wasn't happy when she found out and I even tried to persuade her that you weren't like any other humans," tyler stopped when josh leaned forward and kissed him briefly before sitting back and politely telling him to continue, "but she didn't listen. so, when she found me at your house, she stared me right in the eyes and said 'i want to meet this human whether you like it or not' and disappeared before I could even say a single word,

I'm sorry for pulling you into this mess, but I promise that I won't leave your side no matter what when we're at my house. I just hope they can understand that not all humans are bad and I only learned that when I met you so I think we got a chance." josh playfully slapped tylers arm before kissing him again, more smiling then actually kissing which made tyler smile and deepen the kiss. josh pulled away before the kiss got more heated since they were at a fast food restaurant instead of the confinement of joshs home.

"stop being cute, it's working. now go dump our trays, I want to go home so you can cuddle me until I fall asleep." josh burst out laughing when tyler didn't waste a second throwing away the food and almost dragging josh out of the establishment, tangling his fingers with tylers so tyler wasn't holding a death grip on his wrist as they walked back to josh's house.

"you did not tell me you lived in a freaking mansion." josh sound dumbfounded as he looked up at the towering house. tyler only rolled his eyes as he grabbed joshs hand.

"I don't like talking about my family's wealth cause most kids would think I'm a spoiled brat that gets things handed to me and most people would hate me for no reason except for me being rich." tyler deadpanned as he lead a baffled josh to the front doors and regretfully knocking on it. squeezing joshs hand when the boy coward behind tyler a little bit when the door opened up and tylers mother appeared.

"hello, tyler. madison, jay, and zack are "busy" at the moment and can't join us for dinner, so I guess it'll just be us four tonight." tylers mother smoothly said as she stared daggers at josh, snapping her gaze back at her son when tyler growled as to say 'stop staring at him like his food because he's not'.

joshs nerves soothed slightly when tyler kissed his forehead but his nerves shot through the roof once again when tylers mother let them in and stared at him with a gaze that could kill.

gosh did josh wish he was back home.
