a mix of conditioned air, rhythmic tapping of pencils against wood, and the teacher boring on about exponents and nume- oh wait, it's french, completely bored josh and made him tune into his own world. he could feel eyes burning into the back of his head but he didn't mind and only adjusted his grey hoodie up higher, joining in the rest who tapped so boredly on the table with pencils or fingernails.
he looked back for a split second to see ruby red eys looking at him, hearing the teacher shout out his name and turning back to the front, giving her an apologetic sorry. only then did the bell ring and kids flooded out, picking up his backpack but to only be stopped by the teacher before stepping out into the crowded hall of students.
"pourquoi n'avez-vous pas fait attention dans ma classe, mr. dun?"
french was not one of joshs main subjects, with a passing grade of a D in her class and overall failing test, but no matter how many times he got pulled over by the teacher, he knew exactly what she was saying.
"i know i know and im sorry, ms. rose. ive just been distracted lately but i promise ill pay full attention tomorrow."
giving josh an unpleasing frown, ms. rose let him go. his body melted in with the rest of the students as he tried to get to his next class without earning him a detention.
he still felt eyes burning into the back of his head.

"what do you mean you saw red eyes looking at you?"
with school out and nothing else better to do, josh and ashley decided to head to taco bell.
so here we are now.
two empty trays littered with dirty, greasing napkins crumpled up laid before them, ashley chewing quite loudly on her pieces of velvet bubblegum as she tried to process what josh said. josh only nodding his head as ashley blow a slightly big velvet bubble before popping it.
"thats not right, thats weird."
josh could only agree.
something about tyler gave him a really off vibe, reckon hes never seen the kid before but just something about him lights a fire inside joshs head. josh didnt even get to see whos red ruby eyes belonged to before being dragged back to the front, but he swore they belonged to tyler.
just something about tyler gave him a really weird feeling.
and josh didnt like it.
