Choice [EXO AU][Vampire]

Chapter 7

~Yin's POV~

About half an hour had passed already and the morning was running smoothly. The bitter scent of coffee was sifting through the air, combining with that of the sweet pastries. Chen worked alongside me behind the counter, casually blurting out jokes now and again. I liked the overall atmosphere this morning and I knew it was going to be a good day.

"Chen, could you quickly whip up a latte for the lady over here?" I pointed with my thumb to an older woman with thin, black hair and big, round glasses.

"Sure thing~" He chirped before getting to work. 

While he worked on the latte I was given an order for an iced coffee and a danish pastry. I filled the cup with the ground beans and added the water and a spoon of sugar. Whilst it was cooling I picked up one of the small, blue pastry boxes and gently placed the pastry inside before sealing it with a sticker. When I had done that I added a cup of ice to the coffee picked it up. I also grabbed the pastry before calling out,

"Iced coffee and a danish?" I looked around.

"That'd be me." A tall guy with vibrant orange hair held his hand out for his items. I carefully handed them over and smiled as did he. His blue eyes seemed emotionless and he stared at me for a few seconds longer before leaving the shop.

~Chen's POV~

I was taking other orders when I felt a strange presence nearby. I looked around the shop to see if I could pick anyone out and my eyes landed on a guy with orange hair. He saw me looking at him and smirked. I furrowed my brows and continued to look his way. When Yin called out an order he stepped forward to take it. Something was definitely up with that guy... As he left I knew that he could be trouble and that I'd have to tell my brothers without them freaking out.

We had other co-workers that took over from our morning shifts. Their names were Taehyung and Lucas, they didn't get along very well but our manager didn't seem to notice. I went into the back to take my apron off and grab my stuff when Yin came in. I know it would probably be a bad decision but I wanted her to actually know my brothers, and so I asked her a question.

"Say, Yin... Are you free after this?" I smiled.

"Umm... I'm pretty sure I am, I mean my parents probably already left," She murmured the last part to herself as if she was thinking out loud.

"So is that a yes?" I asked.

"Sure... But why?" She asked, one eyebrow raised and a smile plastered on her pink lips.

"I was going to ask if you wanted to, maybe, meet my brothers and hang out or something.." I shrugged.

"That'd be lovely~!" She practically did a little jump.

I knew ever since I began working with her that she liked meeting new people and making new friends- she was just that sweet kind of person. When she turned back to folding an apron I texted the others.

Me- I've got a surprise! Be presentable for when I get back!

A second later two of my brethren messaged me back.

Baek- If it's what I'm thinking then I'll take a shower too!!!!

Satansoo- Don't be stupid.

I chuckled under my breath at them before putting my phone into my jacket pocket. I turned back to see Yin rearranging some stray strands of blonde hair from her face.

"You ready?" I asked, beaming.

"I think so," She gawked around making sure she hadn't left anything behind. She nodded afterwards and I lead her outside of the shop. The sweet scent of the coffee was soon replaced by that of Yin's once we were outside; walking side by side, I quickly understood what the others meant. I couldn't describe her scent if I tried, but it was intoxicatingly sweet- I hoped she'd maybe offer her blood to us one day...

~Yin's POV~

I nodded my head and followed Chen out of the shop. I was actually really excited, and maybe a little bit nervous. I hoped that his brothers would like me and accept me as a friend- I really wanted them to. I was smiling like an idiot internally, I was just so happy! Me and Chen walked side by side, he too looked upbeat, when we reached a cold, steel-blue car he unlocked the doors. He opened the passenger side for me and I felt my cheeks flush at the gesture. I hopped onto the seat and watched as strode around to the other side. The slight, yellow rays of the sun reflected off of his brown hair, seemingly making it glow. He gracefully got in the other side and started the engine. 

I watched the buildings go by in a blur as I gazed out from the window. We drove down various roads, all while I was thinking about what I was going to say to everyone when we arrived; I never noticed how silent the journey had been until now. It had been about 5 minutes before Chen had spoken up.

"So, my brothers... I'm sure that they'll introduce themselves once we arrive, but.." He paused "Please tell me if they get a bit too much. They can act very... Strangely sometimes." 

I simply nodded before replying with another query the was going through my mind.

"Chen? How many brothers do you have exactly?" I raised an eyebrow

"Well, there's 9 of us all toge-"

"You have 8 brothers?!" As an only child, I was astonished at this number.

"Well yeah," He responded to my dismay. Then he noticed that he missed a major detail.

I could see his eyes widen as he began to spoke.

"W-Wait! Sorry I mean, we aren't biological brothers or anything!" He babbled.

I just laughed and looked back out to the scenery. The green-yellow leaves on the trees caught the sunlight and people were walking down the stone paths that surrounded the road. An older woman walked past with a tiny, fluffy dog trailing behind her; my mind screamed in awe so I smiled so myself. The rest of the journey was rather quiet. Soon we pulled up in front of a large white house in one. It had an oak door built into it and was all fenced in by a short hedge.
