Choice [EXO AU][Vampire]

Chapter 19

~Yin's POV~  

I ached.

Everywhere seemed to hurt as if I'd been sleeping for a hundred years. Maybe I was sleeping. How long for? Why? I didn't know, but I was strangely at ease- if I was dreaming I didn't want to wake up.  I could hear murmured voices whispering faintly just out of my reach and amongst them, one that I knew. 

"Yin, when you awaken... You should trust and believe every word that is spoken to you. It will benefit you and others if you accept the situation you are in- you don't have time to spare."

"What do you mean?" I whispered back.

Whoever spoke sounded like an angel, her voice seemed perfect, smooth and delicate. I trusted her every word like it was my nature to do so.

"You will find out soon enough, but please remember- think everything through and do not blame the brothers nor anyone but the evil king and his disciples. They made a choice, one nobody wanted to make, but it was one to keep you alive. Those boys like you more than you think."

With that, the whiteness that surrounded me subsided and blackness swallowed me up again.

I could hear my breath. I could move my fingers. I could open my eyes.

At first, the dim light hurt my eyes but I kept on blinking and soon enough I made out that I was in the brothers living room. I was currently alone as far as I could tell and I hadn't yet made a single sound alerting anyone that I was awake.

I wondered how long I was out for and what exactly happened to me when memories started to rush through my mind. 

With that, I remembered the whole thing.

I sat up and screamed.

I barely had time to piece together what that woman said and what was going to happen to me, when the 9 boys barged through the doorway. Everyone stared at me wide-eyed, whilst I stared at them back. Nobody knew what to say.

"I-" I started to speak but my voice cracked from not being used apart from screaming a second ago.  

"Yin please forgive us! Let us explain everything! But first ask us as many questions as you want to help you understand all of this better," Lay began, bowing with several of the others as he spoke. 

"Okay," I said softly, sitting back down on the sofa as the boys took places to perch on the other side of the room- giving me space.

"Ask us anything," Suho directed.

I took a deep breath, mildly dreading the answers to each question, and started to speak. I had already witnessed enough, I just needed their word for everything, then I would believe it.

"W-What are you guys?" I said looking at my knees. 

"Please don't be afraid of us Yin, we don't want to hurt you," Baekhyun butted in before anyone else answered me. 

"We are what you call Vampires Yin, but different to the ones you hear about in fairy tales and fictional books." Kai smiled sadly. 

I built up enough courage to face them before asking another question, I trusted that woman from before, I was going to trust them and remain unafraid- they wouldn't hurt me they promised.

"Who were the people from before? The other 3 boys," I played with my fingers nervously. 

"They were once our brothers, Kris, Luhan and Tao, but they turned against us for the wealth and luxuries that that man offered them. Their greed stole them from us, their ignorance kept them where they are now." Kyungsoo answered me. 

I nodded my head. This was a lot to take in at once.

"Um... What did that.. guy... make you choose? He said to choose something... I don't remember that clearly.." I stuttered. 

Chanyeol sighed before talking.

"We had 3 choices, one was that you'd die- he would leave you alone with Tao, Luhan and Kris until they managed to kill you some way." He paused. 

"Another option was to let him kill you, hed either just drain you of your blood or turn you cruelly and painfully into one of our kind- you'd be a puppet under his control," He stopped and looked at Suho who finished for him.

"And the last option was to take you back with us, he'd give us  11 days until we had to turn you into one of us, but in a kind way- you just have  to choose which one of us does it," He said shrugging his shoulders, almost expecting me to break down and cry.  

But I didn't. I sat still and sighed.

"Alright." When that word left my lips a glimmer of hope and reassurance sparkled in their eyes. There was no way out of this situation without someone being lost, I didn't mind this as much as some people might expect. I could still live my daily life as these boys did- it wouldn't really change much.  

"How will I choose who does it?" I questioned further.

"We thought that you should spend a day with each of us and get to know us further, you could experience our bites, as weird as that sounds but we all have different bites, and then on the 11th day, one of us would turn you," Suho answered. 

Baekhyun piped up too.

"So today obviously counts as one of our 11 days so we have 10 left since this one is for you to process everything, so tomorrow, on the 2nd day will be Lay's day."

"3rd day will be  Xiumin's  day,"  

"4th will be Baekhyun's day,"

"5th will be Chen's day!"

"The 6th will  be Sehun's day,"

"7th is Kai's day,"

"8th day is gonna be Chanyeol's day,"

"9th will be Kyungsoo's day,"

"And 10th will be Suho's day."

Everyone spoke one after another. 

"If you have any questions, ask any of us on our day," Lay spoke softly. He then placed a pile of clothes in my hands- I was guessing I was meant to get changed into them.

I nodded my head, still baffled- all of this was so hard to believe, but I was also stuck in the middle of all the evidence that it was. 

Baekhyun walked across the room and handed me a small blue book.

"That's for you, it's a diary kind of thing. You can write down whatever you're thinking and about the day you spent with each of us in there." He smiled.

"Thank you Baekhyun," I smiled back. Maybe this wouldn't be so bad.

With that, everyone went back to their rooms and Kai guided me to a spare room that was between his room and Chen's. I thanked him and he just gave me a small smile and his cheeks went a shade of pink. I chuckled before entering the room. 

I immediately jumped onto the fluffy bed. The sheets and pillows were all plain white but they felt like clouds. I sighed when I had to get up, remembering I still needed to get changed. The clothes consisted of a pale pink skater-skirt, a cute white off-shoulder top and some fluffy socks. I jumped back into heaven once again and I snuggled under the quilt.

This wouldn't be so bad, right?
