Choice [EXO AU][Vampire]

Chapter 12

~Kai's POV~

Everyone settled down and waited for the film to start. I, for one, knew that Kyungsoo wouldn't put anything particularly nice on- but I knew nothing gory or scary would affect my brothers for obvious reasons. 

I was, however, kinda worried about the whole situation for two reasons. One, none of us knew how Yin would react to gory stuff. Two, bloody things tend to get some of us... Exited? That's not the word I'm looking for but you get the idea. It'll be worse to control with Yin in the room- I hope nobody makes a mistake. I made a mental promise to myself to try my hardest to keep in control.

I glanced over at the others and Xiumin, Lay and Sehun were wearily picking up a small handful of the popcorn. I smiled and nodded to them. They nodded back. Stay in the illusion of being normal.. 

I cast my gaze over to Yin. She always looked stunning to me; her seemingly perfect figure was hugged beautifully by her choice of clothes and even though her hair was damp, she still looked amazing. Not gonna lie, I was jealous that she chose to sit next to Chanyeol, even more so when she let him nuzzle into her neck- who knows the high that he's getting off of that...

The film began to play with no start screen- what the hell did Kyungsoo choose..?

~Yin's POV~

Honestly, I didn't actually get to watch most of the film. Instead, I was silently screaming as my eyes teared up in fear. Never in my life have a watched something so terrifying before; all the time when I wasn't burring my face into Chanyeol's shoulder, I was screaming at the main character, trying to somehow warn her about what was going to happen. From what I gathered, this young girl had moved into a new town to get a fresh start for herself after her parents' death. She had been stalked since her arrival and she was kidnapped by her pursuers- who turned out to be vampires?! It was all too much for me and it didn't even end as I fell asleep, my tear-stricken face was distorted in utter shock as the main character was brutally murdered before my eyes- well goodbye mascara. This was enough stress to knock me out for a good few hours- it just all looked so real...

~Suho's POV~

My first thought, that film wasn't too bad, my second- Kyungsoo is going to be punished for showing Yin something that contains vampires while around us... I slowly tilt my head over in Yin's direction to see that she was asleep, her cheeks were stained with tears and the makeup from her eyes was smudged in a dark mess beneath them. She was slumped against Chanyeol's chest- who was also asleep. I looked around the rest of the living room to see that Baekhyun, Chen and Sehun were also asleep. Xiumin however- he had also been crying?

"Xiumin?" I spoke quietly as to not wake the others.

"Yes?" He sniffled as he spoke and rubbed at his cheek.

"You crying?" I tilted my head to support my question.

"I-I'm just... " Then he let it all out. "SHE JUST MOVED AWAY FROM HER OLD LIFE AFTER HER PARENTS HAD DIED I MEAN, THE POOR GIRL HAD TO GO THROUGH SO MUCH!!! WHY COULDN'T THEY HAVE JUST LEFT HER ALONE?! SHE DIDN'T DESERVE TO DIE... SHE'S TOO YOUNG! AND I SHIPPED HER AND THE BLONDE GUY THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE THING!!!" By the end of his squark, Xiumin held his face in his hands. My brothers that were sleeping soon stirred and began to open their eyes too.

"..." I stood there in a loss for words. He had always been a softie, I knew that firsthand, but I didn't know he got attached to film characters that quickly... It's never happened before. Xiumin is probably the most sensitive of us, even though he never shows this side when he's hungry. 

I turned my attention back to Yin. 

"Lay? Chen? Could you take her up to my room and set her in my bed? I think she deserves to rest after," I stopped and glared at Kyungsoo, who just smirked innocently. "After that. Lay, could you also clean up the makeup from her face? It'll be bad for her skin if it stays on." The two of them nodded and began to get up.

That left the other 7 of us to ask Kyungsoo about his choice in film.

~Lay's POV~

Both, Chen and myself stood up and brushed ourselves down. I shuffled over to Yin and picked her up as carefully as I could. I didn't want to wake her up, as Suho said- she deserves some rest. I slipped one of my arms beneath her legs and my other around her small body. She felt so delicate in my arms. I had to admit, she was really, really pretty- I bet she doesn't even realise it herself. Chen and I made our way upstairs slowly and silently as to not wake the girl I held gently in my arms. 

We arrived at Suho's door and Chen opened it up as we stepped inside. I'd gotta admit, his room was probably one of the neatest of ours and the white-painted walls made it feel calm and spacious. I carefully laid Yin down on the bed and covered her with a soft, grey blanket. While I was doing this I whispered to Chen.

"Can you get a bowl of warm water from the bathroom and a cloth?" 

"Of course," He also whispered and headed out from the room, presumably to the bathroom.

I turned my attention back to the sleeping girl once again and gently brushed a stray strand of hair from her face. I sat there in silence admiring her, how it feels to still be human. Honestly, being a vampire isn't as bad as people make it out to be. Apart from not being able to taste human food (which wouldn't provide many benefits for us anyway), there aren't many other bad parts to be what I am. I snapped myself out of my thoughts when the door to the room opened and in came Chen, with a bowl and cloth just as I asked. He set it down on Suho's nightstand.

"Can you hold her hair back?" I quietly requested.

"Sure," He smiled and knelt down but the side of her, gently grasping her murky, blonde hair between his fingers. 

I took the cloth and dipped it into the bowl. When I laid it against her pink cheek she squirmed slightly in her sleep. I quickly pulled away but she soon settled down again. I resumed what I was doing and as carefully as I could I wiped the grey tear stains from her skin.

Once we had finished, Chen and I left the room to allow her to sleep in peace and we continued downstairs. I entered the living room first and was met with shock. Everyone was stood up, they looked worried, confused and... Scared? 

"What's going on?" Chen asked from beside me, for our leader to respond.

"We got a call." Suho spoke, keeping a straight face to hide his own worry.
