~???'s POV~
"Speak." The Boss' voice commanded and I nodded before speaking.
"There is a girl who knows about our world and is being fed information due to the brothers. Just moments ago, I saw the girl running out of their house as if her life was on the line clutching at her neck. The rain was blocking all scent so I couldn't tell what they had exactly done to her but the way she was holding her neck seemed like either an unsuccessful attempt of killing her so she can't spread what she knows or they fed off of her." I paused.
"I'll keep an eye on them to make sure they aren't planning anything and to keep an eye on who they girl speaks to."
"Good, do that." The Boss said bluntly. "I'll be expecting to see you again..." He trailed off and I was dismissed.
Honestly, I was glad that those 9 had finally slipped up and were caught doing so, I never liked them anyway.
~Yin's POV~
I hopped off of the bus and walked towards my apartment. It had stopped raining, but the dark clouds still hung heavy in the sky. I went through the door to my apartment building before heading up the stairs. I lived on the 3rd floor. When I got to my door, I lifted up the doormat. There was my key, exactly where I told my mum to leave it. She never forgot a single thing, my mum, which meant she could remember the best moments from when I was younger. I liked being reminded of my childhood, it made me feel more relaxed and at peace.
I unlocked my door and closed it behind me. I chucked my keys on the table and kicked off my shoes by the door. There was a note on the kitchen worktop that my dad had left for me.
Boo, we're off. Leaving the keys where you said to. Don't forget to relax and have fun when you're not at work! Your mum is telling me that I was stupid for writing that we left the key because you would've already found it to get inside to read the note.
Anyways, we'll be gone for a while. Love you xxxxx
I smiled while reading it because the whole paragraph just summed him up. My dad was funny when he wasn't laughing at his own grandad jokes anyway. I left the note there and flopped onto my sofa. I was exhausted after today, work, meeting everyone and running to get home- at least the bus helped. I felt my eyelids creep shut, my wet clothes sticking to my skin as I lay there. Before I could change, the world slipped into my dreams.
~Baekhyun's POV~
Suho was ranting at us about how dangerous it was having Yin here. The fact that I wasn't even around at the time made it even more boring to get an earful from him. I was leaning against the doorway, my arms crossed. Yin had left a good 20 minutes ago but her scent wasn't exactly gone yet- Suho might not have even known that she was here if she didn't have such a sweet scent.
"Alright, alright..." I murmured. Looking around the room. My eyes stopped on Kai.
I turned back to Suho, "Me and Kai should get going then, it's dark out." I gestured to the windows.
"Yes," Lay agreed. "Keep an eye open for any of the Boss' men as well as protecting her. If the Boss finds out we have been protecting her from him he'll make our lives hell..." He continued.
"About that.." Kyungsoo said glumly "Why are we protecting her, wouldn't it be easier to just-"
"Dude?! Seriously what the HELL??!!!" Kai shrieked.
"We are protecting her because we are nice people. We don't just kill other people!" Suho stated "And we're the ones who put her in danger in the first place. If she saw what Xiumin did, and she tells someone, she could be in serious trouble- that's why we're protecting her. It was our fault." Suho's eyes glared down a defeated Kyungsoo who looked down at his hands.
I decided to break the oncoming silence.
"Well, come on Kai! Let's get on with being guardian angles~~!" I grabbed his arm and walked out of the living room, towards the front door. Once we got to the end of the hall I put on my mustard coloured boots and Kai did the same- but his pair were burgundy. I opened the door and stepped out into the gentle, cool night breeze and let out a sigh. Honestly, I felt more stressed than ever but I was happy that we were doing this. I turned to Kai and smiled innocently.
"Kai?" He looked up at me and immediately huffed and crossed his arms.
"What?" When I stayed silent he continued. "You expect me to teleport us there? Seriously, you're that lazy?"
"Yup~!" I smirked, popping the 'p'.
"Fine.." He walked over to me and grabbed my shoulder. I closed my eyes because even though it was quicker to get there this way, it made me feel very nauseous. In a few seconds, I reopened my eyes to see we were outside Yin's apartment building.
"I still can't believe the girl you have had a major crush on for all these years is the one who we have to protect. Coincidence? I think not~! Especially becau-" I was cut off by Kai smacking me around the back of my head.
"We have work to do." He stated bluntly and sat up on a wall nearby. Now started the night shift, another uneventful night- except now we had someone to protect.
