Choice [EXO AU][Vampire]

Chapter 6

~Chanyeol's POV~

I could see Kai looking protective. Chen looking confused. Xiumin looking sad. Lay looking worried and Suho looking angry. We were in trouble. I knew that Suho wouldn't want all of this trouble, especially because she didn't even understand how deeply she was involved in our situation. 

"I guess we have to do something then," I spoke out of the silence.

The others just looked at each other. I sighed and turned to Suho.

"What should we do?" It was obvious that he knew something.

"... Two of us should keep an eye on her. While she's at work, Chen can look after her. Kai and Baekhyun can watch over her at night. Chanyeol and Sehun can watch over her during the day. Xiumin, can you look out for the Boss' men- in case they think she knows about us." After he said my brothers' names they nodded and accepted the task they were given.

"What about us?" Lay questioned pointing at him and Kyungsoo. 

As Suho explained what they were going to do all I could do was gaze out of the window. The morning was slow as usual. Then I chimed in,

"Chen?"

"Yup~?" He replied happily.

"Don't you have work?" I smirked.

I saw his face drop as his head quickly turned towards the clock. When he read the time he jumped up and dashed to his room; a second later he came running out with a bag. As he ran towards the front door he clicked his fingers. The lights in the room turned off, letting the morning sunlight glimmer through the curtains.

~Yin's POV~

The kettle finished boiling and I poured the steaming water into 2 cups. I tapped the countertop whilst humming to myself. After waiting for another minute I picked up the cups and headed back to my living room. My parents looked my way as I entered.

"Here you go~!" I handed my parents their drinks and sat back on the sofa with them.

They both thanked me and took a sip. My eyes scanned the room and landed on the clock.

"Eeep!!!" I jumped up from my seat and ran as fast as I could to my room.

"Sorry!! I have worrkkkkk!!" I shouted to my parents as I ran down the hall. I could hear my dad chuckle as I opened the door to my room. As fast as I could, I grabbed my work apron; it was dark grey and had sewn gold lettering towards the top left corner. It had the stores logo. I liked being a barista, you could meet new people and my colleagues always made me laugh.

I dragged a brush through my hair and ran back out into the hall whilst removing my bright orange socks. I threw my apron onto the living room table as I put some white, ankle socks on instead. I also wore my red converse high tops.

"Will you be okay if I leave my keys with you?" I asked my mum.

"Sure. I'll leave them under the mat?" She asked me.

"Yup~" I said whilst rummaging in my pocket for my keys.

I unlocked my door and then threw my keys to my mum. 

"Byeee~!!" I said as I grabbed my apron and dashed through the door.

I ran all the way out of my apartment building. I used to be a good runner- not so much anymore. I speed walked down the street and turned the corner. I didn't live too far away from the coffee shop, only about 7 minutes away. 

By the time I reached the shop, I couldn't even speak. I was so out of breath after deciding to run down the last stretch of street- which was longer than I remember. I entered the shop and the bell chimed I saw my boss behind the counter. He smiled at me and said,

"You're the first one in today." He laughed.

I sighed and laughed too as I walked behind the counter. I went through the door and into the back. I put my bag on a peg and placed my apron down next to it. I went to check my hair in the mirror and shifted the stray strands out of the way. 

I sighed and picked up my apron as another employee walked through the door. His light, brown hair was also messy and he smiled as he saw me.

"Hey Yin," He chimed.

"Hey," I said simply whilst trying to tie my apron across my back. I saw him watching me struggle.

"Here," He said and tied my apron for me. I felt myself blush slightly as I thanked him. This was Chen. My funny coworker, he always kept me cheerful and happy. He was actually really sweet, I loved making new friends and I was glad that I worked with someone so kind. We had hung out before, gone on walks and went sight seeing and stuff. I was glad I knew such a nice person.

"I'll head out front," I spoke and smiled as I went out the door to behind the counter. 

Another start to a normal day.
