Everything was slowly getting back to normal. Or, as normal as it could get in a world full of superheroes.

Peter and MJ went back to school, much to the relief of Ned, Tony refused to rest and instead worked on the new arc reactor, and Pepper kept freaking out every time Tony even coughed. So yeah, everything was pretty much back to normal.

But not for Michelle Jones.

She hadn't had much time to think about it with all that had been going on, but what Tony had told her during the 'application' was still nagging at her. I mean, it's not really something you can just let go. She did just learn that what she had believed to be true for almost 16 years, was wrong.

She hadn't been an orphan. Or, at least not the way she had thought. She didn't know if her biological parents were still alive, Tony hadn't known from whose DNA she had been formed.

Which was, like, really creepy to even think about.

"What are you thinking about?"

Michelle looked up, startled. She furrowed her brows in confusion when she saw Clumsy Do- Peter, sitting next to her. They were in Spanish class, the last class of the day. She hadn't seen him all day, but after spending a lot of time together after- you know, they couldn't really go back to occasionally running into to each other.

Plus, they had both shared some personal information with each other, which wasn't something you could just walk away from.

"Uhm, nothing special." She said to answer his question. Peter knew that wasn't true, of course, but he didn't dread on it, simply nodding instead. "How's he doing?" Michelle asked him before he could change his mind and ask questions.

Peter knew who she meant, and a smile crossed his features.

"Stubbornly ignoring the doctor's, and Pepper's, advice to take it slow." He answered with a huge grin on his face and a naughty twinkle in his eyes. Michelle couldn't help but smile at the sight. It was obvious the boy cared a lot for his mentor. "He's working on the new arc reactor, so I haven't really seen him lately. Apart from the moments where he was being dragged up by Pepper to eat, he's been isolated all the time." Michelle could now see a hint of disappointment in his eyes. She didn't like seeing that, she loved- uhm, liked the glimmer of happiness in his eyes.

Peter pushed the feeing back, however, instead changing the subject.

"So, decathlon meeting after school, right?" Michelle nodded, although the subject change didn't go by unnoticed. "Did I miss something?"

"Not much," Michelle answered. "Besides, this isn't the first time you missed decathlon. At least now I know why." She said giving him a fake accusing look.

Peter laughed and raised a hand to scratch the back of his neck. Michelle had to stop herself from thinking it looked very cute, so she looked away instead, giving herself a mental face palm. She'd been having more and more of those thoughts lately, and it scared the crap out of her.

What is wrong with me?

"Okay, so I got some new Lego sets and I think we need to start right away so we can have it done before the weekend." Ned came towards them, sitting close by. He slipped the phone back in Peter's bag, which went unnoticed by the owner, who was staring at him with curiosity.

"Why are you so late?" Peter asked. Ned was never late.

"Uhm, I-uhm, I-I had to do... stuff."

Peter looked at his friend with a curious look on his face. He opened his mouth to say something, but class started. He decided to ask later.

Ned couldn't focus on the teacher. All day he had been trying to get Peter's phone, to see what his friend had been up to. He was finally able to get it when Peter had given him his bag to use the bathroom before Spanish class began, and what Ned had found wasn't what he had ever expected to find.

He had seen text messages. A lot of text messages. Texts about going to the hospital, about warning Mr. Rhodes about what had happened. About wanting updates to the situation, and a lot of Distressed Peter Texts when he got no response. All those texts were sent to Happy. And Ned knew that Peter sent texts to Happy. Only, Happy never responded. This time, he responded to every text.

And worst of all, Ned hadn't even received one.
