Christmas was coming soon.

Peter hadn't realized how the seasons had flown by until he one day walked to school with Ned, shivering under his thin jacket. At the avengers compound, they had a 'tradition' that every year, everyone had to buy presents for all the other Avengers. It didn't have to be big, just something they'd like. The day before, Cap had pulled him and Harley away from Tony for a while to talk to them, earning nothing more than a confused look from Tony. Peter had noticed something was off with him lately, but he was in no position to ask.

"Kids, listen up." Cap said, eyeing the kids with a serious look in his  puppy-like eyes. "As you might have noticed, Tony's been off lately." The two kids looked at each other, seeing the same worry they themselves felt reflecting in each others eyes.

"What's wrong with him?" Peter asked with a small voice. Steve sighed, rubbing  his hand over his face.

"It's something that happens every year around this time. His parents died on Christmas Eve, so that's pretty hard on him. He tries to hide it now that he has some people around him, but it's still really hard of course."

Peter looked down, remembering how he felt every time Uncle Ben's death anniversary came up.

"Rhodes told me he used to isolate himself in his lab for weeks every year, not eating or coming up at all." Steve continued. "We managed to prevent that from happening a few years back, when we decided to make a tradition to buy each other presents and sharing them, to distract him a bit. This year, he's got you two," he said, pointing at the two boys with a spark in his eyes, "And I want you to make this a Christmas he'll never forget."

The boys agreed without hesitation.

As Peter went around the city with Ned, he'd gotten most of the presents for everyone; he bought Bucky a machine-gun key chain, Steve a new phone (he desperately needed one), Natasha a katana with her name carved in it, etc. He was only able to afford it because of Mr. Stark giving him more money than he could possibly spend.

He was only missing presents for 2 of the members; Tony himself and Michelle. I mean, what the hell do you give a billionaire that already has everything? And Peter didn't really know Michelle that well, so he didn't know what to get her.

He could of course ask her, but that didn't even occur to him, util a genius idea came up in his mind. He quickly grabbed his phone, still shaking of excitement.

"This is going to be amazing."

Picking only one dog was one of the hardest things Peter had ever done. After being at the pet store with Ned for 3 hours (who only agreed with going if Peter finally told him what had been going on a few weeks ago since Peter had avoided that subject the whole time), he finally made his decision.

"I'll take both."
