He starts talking, saying words. Just words. Random words. I know Russian well enough to know what they mean, but they don't make any sense. Michelle suddenly grips my hand just as a horrible pain shoots through my head. Her grip tightens when it happens again, and mine tightens just as much. The words continue as the pain increases.

With every word, there is more pain. It's unbearable. I look up to see Bucky on his knees, breathing heavily. He's holding his head with an iron grip, words coming out of his mouth. But I can't hear them. All I can hear is Finn's voice in my head, in my brain. All I can hear are The Words.

I get up on my knees from where I was slumped against the wall. My body is starting to feel numb and I can't feel my hands and feet, but I crawl over to Michelle, holding her tight. I want to tell her I'm here, but I can't talk. I open my mouth but nothing comes out. So I hold her. I hold her as the words continue in an endless stream. I promised him I'd keep her safe, so that's what I do. I hold her and keep her safe until I can't. I lose control over my body until I'm just a voice in the back of my own head.

My body moves on its own. It's not me as I stand up, completely ignoring the injuries that should have prevented me from even properly moving. It's not me as my mouth moves and it's definitely not me as words come out.

"Ready to comply,"

I am a prisoner in my own body.

"Come on, man," Sam tried again as he struggled to keep pace with the Captain. "You know this is suicide if we don't get help from the Dora Milaje..."

"We can still do this, Sam," Steve answered, turning around to look his teammate in the eye. "We're the Avengers."

"Act like I care. We're short the most powerful teammate, and the daughter of an assassin." Sam said as he threw his arms around in defeat. "Oh, and Bucky too."

Steve shot him a look as he entered the jet. Sam shot a 'sorry not sorry' look back.

"We take what we have now, we'll take the twins too-" Steve started, but he was interrupted by Sam waving frantically in his face.

"You mean to take a detour to get the twins? Cap, we'll lose valuable time if we do that. We'll send them a message, tell them to meet us there."

Steve bit his lip, pondering over the possibilities before relucantly nodding and sitting down, waiting for the quinjet to take off.

"Where to, kid?" Strange asked as he looked around.

"Right." Peter answered with determination.

The group had been walking through the forest for hours, though it felt like they'd been there for years. Though it didn't stop them. In fact, it encouraged them to keep moving, knowing that they were getting closer and closer. What they didn't know, is that, with every second, they came closer and closer to defeat.

Finally, the woods gave way to a big open place. Strange stepped forward, hand outstretched. His hand seemed to settle on something invisible. He pressed further, and a door slid open.

"Give them hell."

---

I saw how they brought us to the spot where I last saw Peter. I saw how the doors opened, revealing Peter, Harley, three kids who I assumed were Jason, Sam, and Skylar, and a random dude I'd never seen before. I saw how Peter came running up to me, his arms wide open. I tried raising mine, but to my surprise, I couldn't. I saw how I raised my arm right before Peter came close enough to touch me, wrapping my hand around his throat and pushing him against the ground. Like my body had a mind of its own. I heard someone screaming a name, 'Jason', and my notice went to a boy, who I assumed was Jason, running towards me, causing me to let go of Peter.
