"Sometimes I feel like giving up..."
-Shawn Mendes, "In My Blood"
~~~The sound of rain droplets increased outside my window as tears ran down the corner of my eye. My eyes felt heavy as I looked up at the ceiling, laying in bed. The sniffles coming from my nose made it obvious of my continuous crying every since I got here from the talent show, not bothering to say hi to my mom. Two hours have passed from my arrival, the tears never stopping. It looked as if I had an endless supply of water in my body.
I was consumed by images of my past that I tried to forget for evident reasons. I can't even believe I thought of reading that poem in front of everyone that explains a horrible event too close to my heart that has left me scarred.
Goosebumps covered my body as I heard a slight knock at my door.
A face pierced through the opening, Isabelle showing me a sympathetic smile.
"Someone is here to see you" she said in a low tone.
"Who is it?" I sniffled.
"Shawn and he looks pretty red" she said nervously with a chuckle.
I wasn't expecting him this afternoon, let alone ever.
I sit up in my bed, cleaning off my tears and mascara when the door opens wide, a strong hand at the door over my sister's head. It was Shawn, with the angry face I never thought I would see from such a peaceful guy. She was not kidding on the red thing."I'll leave you two alone..."she said and almost ran out the room.
Shawn's chest lifted up and down, the tension in the room eating me up. He closed the door behind him, making a loud bang. My eyes shot wide, not really knowing what made him so mad at me. I expressed one of the most horrific moments of my life and he's not crying, basically the opposite. I'd like to hear the story of this.
He must have noticed the mascara stains on my shirt because his eyes softened a little.
"Why did you lie to me?" He said to me, his raspy voice demanding an answer.
My heart started to beat very fast, not wanting to think he found out about all the things I have lied to him about, including that I still have feelings for him. I cannot deal with this now.
"You need to be a little more specific..." I whispered, scared of the answer.
He walked from one wall to another, passing his fingers along his curled hair. His eyes looked around the round, like a million thoughts flew around his brain. He looked stressed, the fidgeting of the silver-colored ring alerting me. He always wore that damn ring, making me question its purpose. But now's not the time for questions.
He stopped walking, looking out the window. I wish his eyes met mine, so I knew what he was feeling.
"The poem...you told me it isn't about me. Then, why the fuck did you lie to me? I did nothing to deserve this, Luna. I have never met someone so..." he raged, his veins almost popping out of his skin. He sighed and looked out the window, trying to remain his cool.
I stood up from my bed, my legs without much strength, and gave him a very confused look. What the heck was he talking about?
When he saw I didn't respond, he chuckled.
"You still persist to lie? Wow Luna..." he said and turned around to meet me.
His eyes were filled of fury, making me slightly scared because I have seen those before. I take a few steps back, bumping with the wall. My breathing became heavy, scared of what could come next.
