*Roses pov*

I was getting ready for my date with Gerard. I slid on a blue dress and black heels. I straighten my hair, put on my mascara and spritzed on some perfume. There was a knock on my door. I could feel butterflies going crazy in my stomach, once I opened my door, there was Gerard. He was wearing black skinny jeans and a black casual jacket, he looked really nice, he was holding a white rose.

"A rose, for rose." We both laughed, I took the rose and put it in a vase with water, then we began, once we got to the restaurant, we ordered our food, and talked.

"So, Rose, what is it like in Ohio?"

"Eh...it depends on what side of town and what city you live in. When I lived my grandma, it was very peaceful and quiet, she lived in the country. I loved it. I would always go into the woods and just walk for hours thinking about a lot. Then I moved out to the city on my own when I turned 18, it was loud, and there were constantly fights, or deaths or someone ended up missing."

"so, why here?"

"I've always wanted to move to New Jersey since I was 15. My uncle used.to live here before he died. He was a fun uncle. He was like a dad to me. My father died of cancer when I was 13....I promised my uncle that I would move here no matter what because we both loved it here."

"wow....I'm sorry..."

"It's life, it happens."

"What about your mom? Do you have any relation to her?"

"...."

*Gerards pov*

She looked up.

"My mother....had too much liquor in her system, she drank herself to death. She started drinking after my father died."

Everything was quiet. I grabbed her hand and slid my thumb across it.

" I have no one now..."

A tear escaped her eyes. I wiped it from her face, and lifted her head up and looked into her eyes.

"Hey....you have me now, I'm never leaving you,"

She smiled. Our food arrives.

"G?"

"Yeah?"

"Do you believe in love at first sight?"

I almost choked on my spaghetti whem she asked me that, had she fallen for me? I took a sip of my wine. Then I swallowed it all down.

I responded with "I mean, if you have feelings for a person and you barely anything about, then those feelings are there for a reason, right?"

She flashed a beautiful smile, and nodded in agreement. After our date we walked back to her apartment, she grabbed a bottle of gin and two shot glasses, we sat across from each other on the floor.

I took off my jacket and watched her fill up the shot glasses, she gave me my glass.

"To new beginnings," she said. "to new beginnings," I repeated. After a few more shots, we were pretty drunk, we were dancing on her bed to "wannabe" by the spice girls, we we were singing and hiccupping at the same time and laughing, we flopped down on the bed as the song went off, she got back up to jump on the bed, I lied there watching her, she then stopped and playfully jumped on me, our faces inches from each other. our eyes meeting.

"god, you're so handsome,"

I chuckled as she said that, she said it like meant it, I put my hand on the side of her face and pulled her in for a kiss. Our lips met, and kissed rhythmically, she then bit my lip, I sighed in pleasure and slid my tongue in her mouth, I slid my other hand up her shirt, then.I stopped, and broke the kiss, and got off the bed.

"what's wrong?"

I was biting on my knuckle.

"we're moving too fast, I really like you, I.don't want to rush into things I'm sorry." I kissed her forehead, grabbed my jacket, put on my shoes and headed for the door, but she ran up to me and grabbed my arm gently.

"you're right...I'm sorry..please stay, I hate being alone...."

The look in her eyes were too sad look at, her big brown eyes, were dancing left to right as she stared at the floor, she sighed, I immediately felt bad for her.

I nodded, I knew how it feels to be lonely, you have no one to talk to, to laugh with, to cuddle with, to sleep with, and I could see it in her eyes that she's lonely, as I am also. I stayed. We lied in bed, just staring at eachother, playing with eachothers hair.

Why do I feel like we're meant for one another?
