Natalie trouble part 1

BETHANY'S POV

Barry let this strange looking woman in and she smiles at me. I mean why? Who is this woman? "Um... Joe you might want to come out here." Barry says in an unsure voice. This just makes me want to know who this lady is even more. I mean she does look oddly familiar.

Joe rushes in and looks at the woman with wide eyes. "Natalie what are you doing here?" He asks. So this lady's name is Natalie. She smiles at him "Well Joe I'm here to see my niece and nephew." Wait this must be my mother's sister aka the aunt I don't remember meeting. Barry told me she wanted nothing to do with us and now she's here standing in our living room?

She turns to look at me and she smiles "this must be Bethany, oh look how tall you are." Is she serious? I'm 5.5 so I'm not that tall. I awkwardly smile "thanks aunt Natalie." I say feeling quite uncomfortable I barely know this woman.

Natalie hugs me and I hug back hesitatingly. Barry put on a smile "would you like to stay for breakfast?"
Natalie looks like Joe who just nods.

after setting up the table and dishing out the cooked breakfast Joe sit at the table with us. We all awkwardly sit there eating until Natalie speaks "so Joe are you still at Detective?" Joe nods " yeah I am and things are going great." Natalie just hums as a response it almost sounds like she doesn't like the fact that he's a cop. "And I see Barry works at the CCPD as a forensics scientist?" Barry nods. I decided to weigh in on the conversation and I smile " I also work that to sometimes." She looks at me raising a curious eyebrow "with office work like work experience?" I chuckle and shake my head "no I sometimes help on murder scenes like identifying bodies and figuring out the causes of death I also work with the meta human task force sometimes." I really hope I can impress her because she is my mothers sister and i'd love to know more about my mom. Natalie gives Joe a little glare. "Hey Bethany mind making some brownies you're good at it and I'd like to bring some to my meeting at the CCPN." Iris smiles I nod "Okay." I get up and go to the kitchen to make some brownies.

After Bethany leaves Natalie sighs and looks Barry " look Barry I'm not here to visit." Barry looked at Natalie in confusion "Then why are you here?" "It has come to my attention that They're lots of dangerous meta humans here causing trouble and the fact that Bethany was hurt in an explosion just the other day, this all makes me think that it would be better for everyone and safer for Bethany if she comes to live with me in Coast city." Barry's face terms to complete rage with a matter of seconds after processing the information. All he could think was that she was taking his little sister away from him. He didn't think that Natalie had the right after they lost their mother and their father was arrested she refused to take them in and in fact she didn't want contact so now after all these years she wanted Bethany now! No he won't allow it not now not ever.

Bethany came back into the room with a smile on her face oblivious to what was going on "brownies are in the oven." "Bethany can you please go to your room." Barry tries to hide his growing anger. Bethany looked shocked and confused "wait why!?" This time Joe butted in " Bethany just go I'll tell you later!" Bethany sighs in frustration and walks up the stairs. She is confused and upset that they wouldn't tell her what was going on.

Barry stands up in an uncontrollable rage "what do you mean you want her to come live with you!" He whispered yells so Bethany doesn't hear him. " she needs a place that is safe and not a place like this city where she could get hurt at any point." She says in a calm and respectable tone. "Me, Joe and Iris protect her she's perfectly safe." Barry defends his family determined to keep his sister with him. Why would she just suddenly just show us out of the blue and demand that Bethany went with her? Barry couldn't get his head around it. " no she's not she is surrounded by meta human criminals, people that want to hurt other innocent people and letting her help at the CCPD will make her target like it already has." Natalie refers to the explosion that Bethany was in not that long ago. "that wasn't even a meta! You don't understand she's all the blood family I have left." he tries to convince her. Natalie Scoffs "no Barry you still have your dad, Your dad's mother who is your grandmother and you have me." "yeah but granny and you didn't care then why do you care now!" He shouts not caring how loud he is being now he didn't care if the whole neighbourhood could hear him. " I do care I just been really busy and I thought you jump at the idea of me taking her then you be able to get on with your jobs!" She says not becoming increasingly angry. "she's not a burden she's mine entire world!" Barry yells bashing his fist on the table. Natalie picks up her briefcase "I'm leaving!" "Good!" Joe, Barry and Iris all said in unison wanting nothing more than her to leave. Natalie heads for the door then turns around when she gets there " I am one of the most powerful lawyers in Coast city I have never lost a case so unless you willingly let me take her I will have to take this to court and trust me I have all the evidence and support to win Full custody." She then slams the door. Barry, Joe and Iris just stand there looking at each other wondering how on Earth they would win this. While Natalie just texts Jay saying the plan is in motion.
