13. Crack Bones With Blind Aggression

Andy POV

I pulled into Ashley's driveway, getting out of the car and knocking on his front door. He answered and I walked inside, quickly saying hello and moving to finding Jake. He was sitting on the couch, eating a slice of pizza, while Jinxx sat beside him watching television.

"What the fuck do you think you're doing?" I asked.

Jake looked confused, "Uhh... eating pizza."

"You know that's not what I'm talking about," I said. "I'm talking about you cheating on Scout."

"Oh," Jake said.

"Oh? Scout's crying her eyes out and all you can say is oh?"

"She's that upset?"

"Yeah, she's that upset. She really loved you and all you did was betray her. That's why I never wanted you two going out. You're such an asshole and no matter how good of a girl you have, you'll always find a way to fuck it up," I yelled.

Jake looked truly remorseful, but I really didn't care. "I didn't mean to hurt her, Andy. I was just drunk and I didn't even sleep with that girl. We just made out."

"And that's supposed to make it better? Making out with another girl is still cheating. You know, I couldn't even imagine doing that to Hailey. You don't cheat on a girl you claim to love."

"Stop acting so high and mighty, Andy, it's not like I planned to cheat on her! I was drunk and I didn't even remember it happened until I saw that picture," Jake defended.

"Shut up, Jake, just shut up. All you're doing is making up excuses. You should be rushing to Scout, begging on your hands and knees for her to forgive you, and promising that you'll never do anything so stupid and hurtful again. But you're not. You're sitting here eating a slice of pizza and watching a basketball game like you don't have a care in the world!"

"Hey," Jinxx said, "maybe you guys should cool down a little bit."

Ignoring Jinxx, Jake continued, "It's funny that you want to yell at me for cheating on her, when that's exactly what did. You make me sound like such a disgusting excuse for a boyfriend, but a year ago, that was you in a bar making out with some girl. You act like Hailey's so special to you, but she's not. You're just going to use Hailey and then cheat on her, like you did before with Scout."

The rage that had been building in me since we started arguing finally boiled over. Jake talking shit about my relationship with Hailey is what really pushed me over the edge. Launching myself towards Jake, I knocked him to the floor. My right fist connected with his nose with a startling crunch. Jake kneed me in the groin, causing me to groan in pain. He used this vulnerable moment to flip us over and get on top, punching me in the eye. I pushed him off of me, punching him again, just as his own fist made contact with the right side of my face. 

Before anything more could happen, Jinxx and Ashley interfered, grabbing us and holding us away from one another. 

Ashley, who was holding me back, just shook his head and said, "What the fuck is wrong with you two? We're supposed to be best friends, brothers, and this is how you treat each other? Jake, it was wrong for you to date Scout, she's Andy's ex. That's totally against the bro code. But Andy, it's wrong for you to act superior about Jake cheating, when you did the same thing. I think you both need some time to cool off and be away from each other. We don't go back into the studio until the end of April. Don't talk to each other until then. Think about everything that's happened here. You've both made mistakes, but you both need to forgive each other."

"Wow, Ash, that's actually good advice," Jinxx stated.

"I know, right? I should have my own advice column or some shit."
