Chapter 34

Hey guys, really wanted to complete the honeymoon chapters today. So here's another quick update.

The next day, Avni and Neil were up bright and early because they wanted to make the most of their last day in Italy. They visited a couple of old churches like the Giorgio and San Marino. And also the Murano glass museum which had some exquisite pieces of glassware. In the afternoon they headed to a pizzeria where there was a very jovial Italian man. When he noticed Avni keenly observing the pizza making process he offered her a chance to try her hand at making one. He taught her the basics of rolling the dough and how to flatten it using the hands. He was doing it with a practised ease and flair tossing it but poor Avni was struggling. Neil was highly amused at her attempt and was shooting a video of this. Finally with some help from the chef Avni managed to create a small pizza base. She later added the sauce and toppings, cheese and placed the pizza in the brick oven to bake. When it was ready the chef presented her mini pizza to them. Even though it was a small one, it tasted great. This even Neil had to admit! And Avni got him to say that her pizza was delicious on camera!They went back to the Rialto bridge after their late lunch to get another view of the city before they left. When they headed home in the evening, the elderly lady landlord greeted them with a smile and handed Avni a postcard!Avni took it with a surprised look because it has her name on it! Then suddenly she realised what it meant....she turned to Neil and attacked him with a bear hug!Avni- thank you! Thank you! Thank you! How did you even do this?She released him and looked at the postcard. Neil had actually sent her a postcard from Florence to their Airbnb address in Venice! She was surprised at how quick the Italian postal system was. In 2 days it had been delivered also!The elderly lady blessed them both and walked away.Avni finally read the postcard-Dear AvniI don't know if this card will reach before we leave to India! Well if Ur reading this, it has and if not...well nothing we can do! :DAnyway if Ur reading this I just want to say - I know that we have had several fights, disagreements, mood swings, misunderstandings so far and probably will have many more too. But I want you to remember that we will get through every single one of them all together and emerge happier and more in love than ever before. I feel extremely lucky and blessed to have you as my life partner and I'm sure you do too;)so Mrs Avni Ayesha Neel Khanna...cheers to our REAL honeymoon and I promise you many more!Always and forever (borrowing Ur phrase!) yours,Neil khannaP.s. I love you! ;)Avni had tears but she was also chuckling as she finished reading the postcard. She looked up at Neil and said- movie reference really?! Neil just shrugged at her with a sheepish grin!Avni just shook her head and hugged him once again. She whispered into his ear- Ti Amo! (I love you in Italian)Pulled back and held out her pinky finger to hin. Neil linked his pinky with hers. Avni said - always and Neil completed - and forever!Avni wrapped Neil into another hug while Neil said in a complaining tone- yeh tumhaari line cheesy nahi hai?Avni just slapped him lightly and said - Ssh chup mr.DCP, moment kharab mat karo!A few hours later on the flight back to Mumbai Avni asked- vaise Voh postcard humaare pahle nahi pahunchta toh?Neil- well then you would have only got 1 postcard instead of 2! Avni looked up at him with glee- tumne ek aur postcard ghar bhi bheja hai! She exclaimed happily and gave him a wet kiss on his cheek- you're the best husband ever! Neil smiled and pecked her forehead as he pulled her into a side hug as he said- and u r the best wifey ever!
