Chapter 5

 Avni woke up first the next day and she couldn't remember a better morning than today.It was still fairly early only 6am. She was in her husbands embrace, his warm breath tickling her skin. She turned such that she could see his face better and she just kept looking at him trying to memorize every detail of his handsome face. She was itching to run her hands through his hair and across the stubble on his face but she was worried he'd wake up, so she just kept on looking at him but she could not control herself for too long. She softly ran her fingers to move a lock of hair over his forehead upwards and continued to trace his forehead down to his stubbled cheek. Suddenly neel opened his eyes and avni tried to withdraw her fingers but neel caught her hand in place.

Neel- Wifey, don't stop. This is the best feeling ever...but actually agar tum ungli ke bajaye lips ko use karogi toh aur bhi better lagega..he huskily whispered

He expected avni would blush, swat his arm away or give him a comeback.

What he did not see coming was that his wifey would decide to take his suggestion seriously because next thing he knew her lips were on his forehead and she started leaving a trail of kisses over his eyes, nose, cheeks, chin and finally she stilled

Neel opened his eyes to find her looking at him with utmost love and his heart swelled

HE pulled her closer and they were locked in another hot kiss.

When they pulled back avni snuggled really close hugging him and placed another chaste kiss on his chest right over his heart. And she just lay there breathing in his scent tracing random patterns on him.

Neel just basked in the amazing feeling to have his avni in his arms. HE had waited forever for this day when they could just be in the moment..just them, no interruptions, and he could make avni feel his immense love for her and also have her reciprocate it. Last night had been magical. It was a first time for both of them and neel had been surprised by the bag of contradictions that avni could be. She was both shy and bold at the same time! She showed signs of nervousness initially but then it was she who had suggested that they take a shower together and though he felt her trepidation initially when she kissed or when she just felt him he had seen and feel all her hesitation melt away in no time because she had been as enthusiastic as him last night! When he had teased her just a few minutes back he didn't expect her to be bold enough to actually go ahead and kiss him. And honestly he was loving it...avni always surprised him in a pleasant way! And this morning when he woke up to see her tracing his face and gazing at him with so much love he felt really treasured and protected. It was a feeling that he had never had before. He chuckled at the thought.

Avni- hearing his chuckle asked him- kya hua?

Neel- suddenly realising that he had chuckled out loud- nahi kuch nahi

Avni looked up and looked at him carefully and said- kya hai jo soch ke khud his has rahe ho?

Neel- voh..actually I was thinking that waking up like today ..just the way you were looking at me and the way you held me I feel safe and protected

Avni- gave him a warm smile and said ok, toh us me hasne ki kya baat hai

Neel- didn't say anything back because he suddenly realised that it was kinda MCPish for him to say out loud that its the guy whos supposed to be the protector and the girl to be some damsel. He knew that avni was the last person who'd be an abla naari kinda person and in fact that was one thing he loved most about her. That she was her own person, she was strong and independent. And he was the lucky one who got to see her vulnerabilities and that she lets him take care of her even though she was perfectly capable of taking care of herself.

Avni- read his unsaid feelings- I'm glad ki tum mere saath safe feel karte ho. And she looked into his eyes and said, neel we are husband and wife. This is an equal partnership. Jitna important tumhaare liye hai ki tum mere saath khade raho, mujhe protect karo mere liye bhi vo sab utna hi important hai. 

Neel- I know avni. And it feels really good to know that we've got each others back. Tum mera dhyaan rakhogi and main tumhaara

Avni- smiled- yup and she held out her pinky finger for him and said- pinky promise!

Neel chuckled at how cute she was- interlocked his pinky with hers and said- pinky promise.

Avni-Accha Neel I'm loving this being in your arms and all but do you maybe wanna go for a walk together along the beach?

Neel- Really?

Avni- haan please chalo na she said with a puppy face

Neel- ok chalo. There was nothing he could deny avni especially if she pulled a puppy face on him like right then!

They got up and got ready in the spare set of clothes that neel had brought and then set off

They took a long walk along the beach, occasionally splashing water on each other, writing their names on the sand and watching the waves wash over them...

Soon they were both hungry.

They made their way back to the resort and helped themselves to a sumptuous breakfast.

Neel watched her eat voraciously and enjoyed that. It was really nice to see that she had learnt to enjoy the little things in life.

Then when they decided to head back home and reached the bike Neel searched in his pockets for the keys but couldn't find it. Suddenly he looked up to see his wife smirking at him. She pulled ut the bike keys from her pocket and said- so mr khanna , chaabi jiske paas hoti hai vohi gaadi chalata hai. She got on the bike, turned on the ignition and said...chalein mr husband?

Neel- tum sach me chalana jaanti ho ya tum ye trial karne vaali ho?

Avni- why don't you find out?- she tapped the seat behind her and nodded her head asking him to sit

Neel- gave in to his wifey and sat behind her

Avni- started off very slow, bike going this way and that

Neel- arey yaar please mujhe chalane do na, tum kisi aur time trial karo. Main khud seekha doonga tumhe. Pukka. Ok?

Avni- let both hands go off the bike and pulled his hands over her waist and said kas ke pakdo ok?

And the next thing he knew was- she had accelerated and they were suddenly cruising on the roads at 100kmph

Neel was shocked! She played him into thinking that she didn't know to ride but now looking at her he realised that not only did she know, but she was really good! She had a practised ease in the way she changed the gears and she had great control even though she was actually going fast.

Neel- wifey tum muje aur kitne surprises dogi? He said leaning forward and pecking her on the neck

Avni- smiled and said surprises ki aadat daal lo mr.husband.

Neel just tightened his hold on her and enjoyed being on the pillion seat !

They stopped on the way for another cup of chai and this time they were back into the city so avni gave him the keys because she didn't enjoy driving in traffic

When they were back home they realised that bebe and shweta had left them a note saying they were going to the temple and would come home only in the evening. Prakash was at work

Neel- wifey, looks like we have the whole house to ourselves! He gave her a suggestive look and a wink

This time avni blushed.

They spent the rest of the day cuddling in their room. They watched a movie and later in the evening when everyone was back they just sat around talking, laughing. When prakash ji came back he said that there was a special business get together at Mahabaleshwar for which families had also been invited. So they decided to make it a family outing since Neel was also taking a few days off.

Later that night after packing clothes for the trip Avneil retired to bed and slept in each others arms with contented smiles.
