Avni and Neil sat side by side at the cliffside watching the sunsetAvni looked like she was in deep thoughtNeil- Kya hua, kiss soch me doobi hoAvni- sab kuch accha accha ho raha hai...I'm happy, aman vaapas aagaya, mujhe promotion milgaya...she trailed offNeil- agar sab accha accha hai, why are you sounding worried?Avni- turned to look at Neil and whispered- dar lag raha haiNeil- kyun?Avni- it seems too good to be true...mere life main koi bhi Khushi zyaada time nahi tikti. And the fact that things are so good scares me...kahin Meri hi Nazar lag gayi toh? I can't afford to lose any of you....Neil- ssh ...Kya bole ja rahi ho tum? Avni...kuch Nazar vazar nahi lagegi! He held her hands in his tightly and said- avni, get used to this...our life is going to be filled with happiness. You have seen and lost enough...ab sab kuch accha horaha hai and aage bhi sab accha hi hoga! Ok?Avni- but agar Khushi hai toh gham bhi aayega na...Neil- hmm...true. maybe chote chote issues honge but jo bhi hoga - we'll see everything through together. She completed as she smiled at him and moved closer to him to lean against Neil.Avni and Neil went back home subsequently.They went about with their lives and routines.Fast forward to 2 weeks later-Neelama called Avni to speak to her Avni- cheerfully- hi ma! And she hung upAvni felt a strange sinking feeling....she didn't know why. Something about neelamas voice had alerted her that she was upset. She didn't sound like her usual self.Avni tried to shake off the feeling but through the day she found her thoughts drifting. She wrapped up her work and finally headed to see neelama that eveningShe got home and settled herself on the living room sofaAvni- batao na maa...aisi Kya baat hai Jo aap mujhse milke karna chahti thi?Neela- moved to sit closer to herNeela- avni....voh mujhe Jo baat karni hai voh...main actually yeh kahna chahti thi ki...Avni maine voh notice Kara...voh ...Avni- maa, she said holding her hands- ssh...pahle aap relax karo. Please aaramse batao mujhe kya hua hai.Neelama took a deep breath and finally said- voh last week jab main naha rahi thi, suddenly Maine notice Kiya....I have a breast lump avni. I felt it just by chance....on my right breast. It is a hard lump almost coin sized. Avni- was silent. She immediately had a flash of the worst possible outcome but she forced herself out of it and looked back up at neelaAvni- ok, toh humain doctor ke pass jaana chahiye. Hum Kal hi chalenge. Main abhi appointment book karvaati Hoon....Neela- avni, baccha main already doctor ke paas ja chuki hoon. Unhone Mera check up kiya. Kal unhone biopsy Kiya aur kuch aur tests bhi likh ke diye Hain....Avni- Kya? Aap akeli kyun chali gayi? Mujhe bataya kyun nahi? She said in a panicked toneNeela- baccha, abhi kuch batane ke liye confirm nahi hua  hai but....Avni- aapka Kal biopsy hua, aapko dard toh nahi ho raha hai? Aapne pain killer liya?Neela- baccha main thik Hoon....but

Avni pukka na? 

Neela- - haan kuch dard nahi hai. Simple procedure tha

Avni- ok, aapka agla appointment kab hai?Neela- parso. Mere biopsy reports ready honge. Kal mujhe chest x-ray or peth ka ultrasound bhi karvana hai...Avni- ok, main saath chalungi. Kitne baje? Aur parso to Saturday hai so I'm off anyway.Neela- avni, u don't need to come tomm. You must be busy...abhi abhi promotion hua hai..Avni- maa, kitne baje ? she asked in a firm toneNeela- subah 9 baje she sighed.Avni immediately called her office and informed them that she would be taking a half day permission.Neela-baccha, main voh....Avni- maa, aap stress mat lo. Let's take it one step at a time ok. Kal tests honge...parso report ready hoga. I'm sure sab accha hi hoga ok. Aap tension mat lo...just stay positive okNeela- merely nodded as she herself didn't know what to say.Avnis phone rang.Neil- hello avni, kahan ho? Avni- vo...vo main bas abhi office se nikal rahi Hoon. I'll see you at home soonNeil- oh ok, sab thik hai?Avni- ha...haan think hai.Neil- ok see you soon. Drive safe ok.

Neelama- thik hai, tum Ghar Chalo. Avni- hmm.. main Kal aapko pick karlungi subah 8 baje ok.Neela- ok.Avni got up to leave and made her way to the car but before she got in, she ran back up to neela and hugged her tight- don't worry ma, sab thik hoga. She said softly before she went back to her car and drove home.When she got home, everyone noticed that she looked very sullen and low. She barely ate any dinner, just pecked at her food. Neil asked her if she was ok but she just replied with a head nod and said nothing. They all exchanged worried glances at each other but let it slide. Avni would talk when she was ready. 

After clearing up the dishes they were all about to retire for the night.

Avni- bebe, aap sone se pahle kuch der jaap karengi na?Bebe- haan puttar. Kyun Kya hua?Avni- voh...aaj Mera bhi man Kar raha hai aapka jaap sun ne ka...toh main bhi chaloon aapke saathBebe- haan kyun nahi puttar, Chalo na.Avni sat in Bebe's room, as she read verses from the Bhagavad Gita and listened to the explanations ..as she sat there listening to her, she sent out a prayer to the almighty and the universe.
