*Kelsey's POV*

I walked out of the bathroom. The game hadn't even started yet and so much drama was already unfolding. I couldn't believe Brianna was pregnant again. But with Brandon's baby? Wow. I didn't know exactly what went down with her and Jonathan, but I couldn't help feeling bad for Jon. He really was a good guy, but he had been sketchy as of late. I had decided it was just nerves, but maybe I was wrong...

As I rounded the corner, I saw Patrick. He jogged up to me, hugging me and kissing me quickly.

"Hey, we gotta watch ourselves tonight. Abby is here, and I don't want her finding out about us just yet." I couldn't help but be hurt by the comment. If he was going to divorce her, why did it matter?

"You didn't serve her the papers yet?" I asked.

"Not yet. But don't worry baby, I'm going to. I'm just waiting for the right time. You aren't mad, are you?" He looked genuinely worried.

"No, I'm fine. I'll get over it," I said, leaning up to kiss him.

"Okay. So, I was wondering...do you wanna meet the girls?"

"I would love to! Can we right now?" I couldn't believe this was really happening!

"Of course. Chaunette has them with the other kids," he kissed my forehead and we made our way down to the family room.

"Aunt Kelso!!" Evelyn shouted as she ran up to me. The girl was too cute. She heard her mom call me Kelso one time, and has called me that ever since.

"Hi baby!" I said, scooping her up and giving her a kiss on the cheek. "What are you up to?"

"Oh nuffin," she said in her adorable toddler voice. "Just playing with Colton and Carter!" The two boys tumbled up to my legs. I couldn't believe they were 4 already. I remember when they were born. I set Evelyn down and took Patrick's hand as I saw the two most beautiful little girls running up to us.

"Daddy!!" They yelled in unison. Patrick scooped them up in his arms.

"Hi babies! Are you guys having fun?"

"Yeah!" The oldest one said, "We're playing house! I'm the mommy," she held out a doll for Patrick to see.

"Girls, I have someone I want you to meet. This is Kelsey. She's a very good friend of mine," he said, smiling. "Kels, this is Madelyn and Sadie."

"Hi!" They both said excitedly.

"Hi girls," I said with a grin. They were adorable. "Your doll is very pretty, Maddy. What's her name?"

"Sarah. Do you wanna hold her?" She held her doll out to me, and I took it. Patrick set them down and I got on my knees so I was eye level with the girls.

"Did you know that I used to have a doll just like this when I was a little girl?"

"Really?" Maddy said, wide eyed.

"Okay girls, Kelsey and I have to leave now. I have to play, and Kelsey has to coach. I love you," he said, kissing them both.

'You're the coach?!" Sadie exclaimed.

"Well, the assistant coach," I said with a smile. She was so adorable.

"What's that?"

"Well, I'm a helper to Joel."

"Grandpa Jooooooel!!!" They yelled.

"Will you come back with Daddy after the game?" Maddy asked.

"Mommy is gonna come get you guys after the game, remember?" Patrick said, kissing their cheeks. He was such a good dad. "But Kelsey and I will be back soon, okay?"

"Okay!" The girls said, and we left.

*Patrick's POV*

Kelsey and I split up at the locker room. I couldn't believe how good she was with the girls. She was a natural mother. Her being good with the girls was the last thing I needed to see before I commited to being with her. I couldn't help thinking about what life would be like after I divorced Abby. Ideally, I would get custody of the girls, and Kelsey and I would buy a big, beautiful home on the lake. In a couple years we would get married and have a couple kids of our own. I always wanted a big family. As I watched Kelsey walk away, I knew that I loved her and had to tell her as soon as possible.

*Kelsey's POV*

As I walked to my office after our 5-1 win, I thought about Patrick's daughters. They were precious. I longed to be their mom and give them everything they could ever want. I was so lost in my day dream that I ran right into Kris.

"Oh, sorry," I said. Talking to him was the last thing I wanted to do.

"It's fine. I actually need to talk to you. Can we do this in your office?" He asked.

"Um, sure," I said warily. This was way out of character for him. We walked the short distance to my locker room and I shut the door as we went in. "How can I help you?" I had to keep this as professional as possible.

"I think you know what this is about..." He said, pushing me back against the wall.

"Kris, you need to get away from me right now," I tried to push him off of me, but he grabbed my hands and pushed me back against the wall.

"I know all about you and Patrick. What is this shit? Are you trying to get back at me?"

"Kris, get. Away. Now. You're scaring me." He got even closer, his face inches from mine.

"You're driving me fuckin' crazy. Come back to me babe..." he closed the rest of the gap, pressing his lips to mine.

"GET OFF!!!" I screamed. The door burst open, just in time for Patrick to see Kris holding me against the wall. In a split second, Kris was ripped off of me. It happened so fast. Kris was on the floor, Patrick on top of him punching him repeatedly in the face. He got off and kicked Kris in the side.

"Don't you EVER lay a hand on my girlfriend again, you piece of shit!" He shouted, kicking him again before walking over to me and pulling me into the hall. "Are you okay baby?" He said, wrapping his arms around me and holding me tight.

"I'm fine," I said, "Just rattled." We got in his car and he drove me home. I couldn't believe Kris. I didn't know what got into him tonight. I was so afraid of what would have happened if Patrick hadn't walked in when he did. I knew I had to talk to Stan and Joel in the morning. I knew I wouldn't be able to handle being in the same room as Kris at practice tomorrow, that is if he was even able to walk after what Patrick did to him.

We pulled in the parking lot of my building and went up to my condo. We went right to the bedroom and cuddled up under the covers. I cried into his chest. He held me tight and let me cry. When I looked up at him, he dried the tears off my face.

"I love you so much, Kels," he said, kissing me.

"Oh, Patrick..." I pulled him close. "I love you too. So, so much."
