*Kelsey's POV*

"Ms. Campbell?" A nurse called out into the waiting room.

"Good morning," I smiled at the nurse as Duncan and I stood and followed her into a hallway.

"And you're the father, I assume?" The nurse asked Duncan.

"Yes ma'am," he answered without missing a beat. Biologically or not, this was our baby.

"Wonderful," she said. "If I could just have both of you sign the sign-in sheet, I can take you to your room." We both signed the sheet and made our way down a cozy little hallway. As we entered the room, we saw a young woman waiting for us.

"Kelsey?" She smiled shaking my hand.

"Yes, and this is Duncan. Nice to finally meet you, Dr. Shazier." I returned the grin.

"First off all, congratulations on the baby! We are going to begin with some routine tests, just to make sure everything is in order with you and to determine your due date. Then we will listen to the heartbeat and take a peek at Baby Campbell-Keith."

"I think we're going to go with just Keith for the last name," I said, squeezing Duncan's hand.

"Very well," she said, writing that down on her clipboard.

Thump...thump...thump...

Tears stung my eyes as I listened to my child's heart beat for the first time. It was amazing to think there was a little person growing inside me. I watched the screen, the doctor pointing out where the baby was.

"Hey little peanut," Duncan said, his voice cracking. I looked up at him and saw him smiling, a single tear sliding down his cheek.

"Well, Kelsey, it appears as though you're almost exactly a month along. You can expect baby Keith to be here on July 1. I'd like to schedule your appointment sometime at the end of December, we'll be able to tell you the sex of the baby." The doctor said. "I will print off your ultrasound pictures and send your prescriptions in, and then you two are free to go."

Duncan wrapped his arms around my midsection, his hands entwining with mine and forming a heart over my belly. He was kissing my cheek. Brent snapped the picture with my phone, and I put it on my social media websites with a post:

Proud to say that not only am I with my best friend and the most incredible man in the world, but we also are excited to announce that we are expecting! Be prepared to meet Baby Keith on July 1st. We hope that you are just as excited as we are!

I was overjoyed to be able to announce that I was with Duncan. We wouldn't have to hide anymore. All we needed was for Patrick to sign over his rights, and we would be golden. As if on cue, Patrick stormed up to us.

"So this is your plan? Really?" He growled.

"Yes it is. And if you'd kindly sign over your rights, you won't have to worry about it," I growled back.

"Here," he said, shoving the paper at me. "Have fun raising your illegitimate child."

Patrick was the least of my concern. He signed over his rights. Now Duncan would legally be able to adopt this baby with no interference. I was just concerned about how the rest of the team, coaches included, would act.

"Congratulations guys!" Chaunette said, running up to me and giving me a hug. "Another little baby running around this place. So exciting! Have you told Colton yet?"

"Not yet," Duncan said. "He's a little young to fully understand yet, so we want him to get used to us being together before we tell him. But we will soon."

"That's awesome," Chaunette said. "Congrats again guys!"

Just then my phone buzzed. It was a text from Kelly Rae, Duncan's ex wife.

Hey sweetie, I just wanted to congratulate you on the baby and the relationship. I couldn't have asked for a better woman to help take care of my son and to give him a baby brother. I hoped from the second Duncan and I got divorced that you two would somehow end up together. Thank you in advance for everything you will ever give to my son, I guess our son. You are as big a part of his life as I am.

My jaw dropped. I showed Duncan, and so did his. Neither of us expected such a positive reaction from her. I silently hoped everyone else would feel the same...
