Chapter 24

*Brianna's POV*

Kelsey and I have been planning a big birthday celebration for the both of us, since my birthday is October 22nd and hers is October 27. I had a present in mind for Kelsey, but it might be difficult.

"Have fun at practice babe!" I said to Brandon as he walked into the locker room. He gave me a quick kiss and also kissed my swollen baby bump. I walked into my office, shut and locker the door, and made one of my important phone calls.

"Good morning! New York Rangers front office, this is Lisa, how may I help you?" I giggled at her energy.

"Hi, my name is Brianna Bauer, I'm from the Chicago Blackhawks. I was wondering if Coach Vigneault is in his office and has a moment to talk." I heard some clicking.

"Please hold while I transfer you."

There was a knock on my door, I got up, unlocked it, and saw Coach standing there. I waved him in and he took a seat.

"Good morning, this is Coach Vigneault, how may I help you?"

I took a drink of my water, "Good morning. My name is Brianna Bauer, I'm the player analyst from the Chicago Blackhawks. I'm calling regarding a very important matter. Our assistant coach, Kelsey Campbell is currently involved with Rick Nash. Next week, we're having a big birthday party for both her and I. I was wanting to fly Rick here to Chicago to surprise her for her birthday. I've checked your schedule. You have a game the day before in St. Louis, so I was wondering if maybe you guys could drop him off here, and then continue back to New York. I'm willing to pay for the extra gas to detour here. Would that be possible?" I heard what I thought to be a sigh.

"You know what, if it gets him to shut up, I agree. That boy hasn't shut up about her. Not that I'm not happy that he's in love, but he just doesn't shut up. And no need to pay, I will put in the detour to Chicago as soon as I hang up." I breathed a sigh of relief.

"Thank you so much. This will mean the world to her! Have a good day!" I heard some clicking, sounded like a keyboard.

"You too!"

I set the phone down and looked at coach, who just grinned.

"So, talking with the enemy I see."

I nodded, "If you want a happy assistant coach, then I suggest you leave this alone, and don't say a word to her, or you will face the wrath of a pregnant woman!" He got up and walked out, and I grabbed my cell phone. I walked out of my office, with my phone ringing.

"Hey Brianna, what did he say?" Rick asked.

I giggled, "He said that you guys will make a detour to Chicago, drop you off, then go back home."

I heard him laugh, "Thanks girl, so what should I get her for her birthday?" Just then, I heard yelling in front of me. I saw Kelsey and Patrick arguing. Patrick pushed her against the wall, hard.

"HEY!!! PATRICK, WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU????"

I heard Rick stop breathing, "Brianna, what did he do to her?" I hung up on him.

"Patrick, I suggest you get your ass out on the ice, before I tell coach you decide to abuse a lady." He left, fuming.

"Kelso, what the hell happened?" She was holding back tears.

"I...I'm pregnant, and Patrick is the father, but he wants me to get an abortion. I'm not killing an innocent child, and he's pissed." I started understanding the thing with Rick now.

"So that's why Rick means the world to you." She nodded. Brandon walked past us going into the locker room.

"Hey! Aren't you supposed to be practicing?"

He nodded, "I am, but I have somewhere I need to go, so coach is letting me leave early." He rushed into the locker room to get changed. What's his problem??

*Brandon's POV*

I had an appointment at 10:30 at the jewelry store. My birthday present for Brianna was a ring. Not just any ring, an engagement ring. I love her so much, I didn't think I could live without her. I arrived at the store, practically running inside.

"Hello, are you Brandon?" The young lady behind the desk asked me.

"Yes I am." She nodded and pulled out a box, I had already chosen the one I wanted, but I had it engraved on the inside of the band. It said, 'Forever and ever'. I smiled when I saw it. In the middle was circular diamond, with tiny diamonds going all the way around it. It has 2 tiny circular diamonds on either side of the larger diamond, and they were surrounded by even smaller diamonds. Then the entire band was covered in diamonds.

"It's perfect!"

This next week was going to go by way too slow!

*Brianna's POV*

After practice, Kelsey and I headed to the party store to get the decorations for our party. We had decided with Hawks colors, so red and black everything.

"So, what do you want for your birthday Kelso?"

She shrugged, "I have no idea. I just want to be surrounded by friends and family." I nodded.

"So, do you think Brandon's going to propose?" She asked me, "I have no idea, I kinda want him to. Evelyn has asked when he's going to officially become her daddy. So, I have no idea, what he's planning." She giggled. This is going to be a long week!
