*Kelsey's POV*

I woke the next morning to a pair of strong arms holding me close and a gentle kiss being placed on my forehead. I smiled, knowing it was Duncan. The sweet smell of his cologne told me he had just showered. We were going to his parents' house for Thanksgiving weekend, and this would be the first time I would get to meet them.

"Good morning gorgeous," he said, kissing me again. I wrapped my arms around him, pulling him down next to me.

"Morning Duncs," I said in a sleepy voice. I leaned over and kissed him.

"How are you feeling today?" He asked, rubbing his hand over my ever growing baby bump.

"Pregnant," I responded with a groan. Duncan laughed, leaving his hand on my stomach.

"I love you," he said, looking me dead in the eyes. A grin spread slowly across my face.

"I love you too," I said, and he slowly leaned in to kiss me.

"That's the first time we've ever said that," I grinned.

"And I've never spoken truer words," he said. I had never seen him look at me like that before. I could feel the love. Just then, Colton walked in. He had a blanket wrapped around his body and a teddy bear in his arms. His blonde hair was sticking out every which way.

"Daddy, when are we going to gramma's house?" He asked. He had just woken up.

"As soon as you get ready, buddy," he said. "Let's go run you a bath and let mommy get ready, okay?" Duncan placed one last kiss on my lips and shuffled Colton out of the room.

I climbed out of bed, grabbing my phone off the night stand. My lock screen told me I had three missed calls from Bri. I knew I was running late, so I vowed to call her after I finished getting ready. The next thing I saw stopped me dead in my tracks. A text from Patrick.

We really need to talk. Meet me at the bistro tonight, 8:00?

I reread the message just in case I was seeing things. When I was sure I wasn't hallucinating, I responded.

I'm going to be at Duncan's parents house all weekend. I have no desire to talk to you, but if it's really as imperative as you make it sound, you can call me tonight.

I showered after I sent it, almost afraid to see his response. I checked my phone the second I stepped out.

I'd rather talk to you in person. Can we go for a walk after the game on Monday?

I hesitated before answering. I knew Duncan would be furious if he found out, but at the same time I knew it was something that had to be taken care of. If Patrick had any sort of explaining to do, I wanted to hear every word of his pathetic excuses. They would only justify my decision to keep him out of my child's life.

Fine.

I set my phone down on the bathroom counter and began getting ready. 6 hours later, we pulled into Duncan's parents driveway. We got out of the car, his parents coming up to greet us.

"Honey, it's so nice to finally meet you!" His mother said, wrapping her arms around me. "I'm Jean."

"And I'm Dave," said his father, shaking my hand. "It's wonderful to finally meet the girl that's making my son so happy."

I blushed and thanked them, turning to wake a sleeping Colton. Duncan stood next to me after assuring his parents that he could handle the bags and put an arm around me.

"So, I was thinking. How about we let Colton spend the night here, and you and I go get a hotel room for the night?" He asked, winking at me.

"I would love to, baby," I said, leaning up to kiss him. I woke up Colton, and the 3 of us went inside to enjoy our first thanksgiving as a family.
