Chapter 12

*Brandon's POV*

        "Daddy, mommy says it's time to wake up."

        I opened my eyes to see Evelyn laying next to me, "I'm up baby girl." She smiled at me, God, she looks just like her mother.

        "Daddy, is it true that mommy is having a baby?" I grinned thinking about it, I pulled her into my embrace. She snuggled into my chest like she always does.

        "Yes, its true. You're going to be an amazing sister. I love you and your mom very much, and I'm here to protect you guys. I won't let anything happen to you two." She looked up at me with a frown on her face.

        "What about the baby? Aren't you going to protect the baby?"

        I chuckled and pulled her even closer, "I won't let anything or anyone hurt your baby brother or sister, ok?" She nodded, I started to tickle her. She giggled, and jumped out of my arms, running out the door. I sat up, only to realize Brianna was standing in the doorway with tears streming down her face.

        "Hey, come here." She walked over to me and I pulled her into my lap. "Babe, what's wrong? Did I say something that upset you?"

        She shook her head, "No," her voice cracked a little, "What you said to Evelyn, made me realize how much you really do care. I'm just afraid that you're going to turn into Jon and then I'll be a single mother with two very young kids. And I'm not going back to Kansas City, unless it's to visit. I just want to be happy for once in my life."

        I cupped her face and made her look into my eyes. I used my thumbs to wipe her tears away, "I'm not going to turn into Jon, and I'm not going anywhere. If I go anywhere, you're coming with me. Okay?" She nodded, and crashed her lips onto mine. Fireworks flew, one of the best kisses we've ever shared.

        "Now, lets go. You've got practice in 2 hours, daddy!" She jumped up, and ran into the closet. She came out in yoga pants, which I'm not complaning about, a red hawks shirt, and black sparkle UGGS. When she walked out the door, I noticed that the back of the shirt had my name and number on it. I got out of bed, threw on my warmup track suit, and ran down the stairs. When I got down there, Evelyn came running up to me.

        "Daddy, look at my jersey. It's just like yours!!!"

        I picked her up, "Yeah baby girl, you look good in my jersey."

        She nodded, "It's my favorite jersey, I love you!" She kissed my cheek, and ran to the couch.

        "C'mon Evelyn, it's time to go. Auntie Chaun will be there to watch you today!" She was getting her coat on, "B, we're going to take separate cars. I have to meet with the lawyers, so I'll see you after practice." She walked up to me, kissed me, and left. God, my life is so perfect...

*Brianna's POV*

        I walked into the United Center with Evelyn in my arms. We made our way to the seats where Chaunette was. When Evelyn saw Chaunette, she pratically jumped out of my arms.

        "Auntie Chaun!!!!!!"

        I laughed, along with Chaunette. "Mornin' Chaun, thanks for watching Evelyn for me. I appreciate it."

        She nodded, "It's no problem, did you tell Brandon?"

        I nodded, "Yeah, last night. He's excited, and so is Evelyn. I need to get to the conference room. Talk to you later. Bye baby girl, be good for Chaunette ok?"

        She nodded, "I will, love you mommy!"

        I ran up the stairs and down to the conference room. When I got in there, Jon was there with his lawyer, and my lawyer was there as well.

        "Ah, good morning Brianna. Please sit."

        I sat down next to my lawyer, across from Jonathan, who looked like he hadn't slept in weeks, and his lawyer.

        "Alright, you both have signed the papers, but we just need to finalize them. Before we finalize, are you guys sure this is what you want?"

        I nodded, "Yes, Jonathan, I love you, I truly do, but I'm not going to take your abuse. I don't know what I did to upset you to the point where you had to hit me, but I'm not going to stay with you and continue to get beat. I love you, I always have, and always will, but we won't last any longer. So, yes, I'm sure this is what I want."

        Jon looked at me, "Bri, I love you, and I'm sorry for what I did. You didn't deserve that. I don't have an excuse for my actions. Take care of Evelyn for me, give her all my love. Please, finalize the papers."

        Both lawyers nodded, and everything was finalized. "Alright, that is all."

        I got up and made my way down to the locker room, when I was pushed from behind.

        "WHAT THE HELL!!!! YOU LOVE JONATHAN, WHY ARE YOU GUYS GETTING DIVORCE?!?!?!?!" Kelsey was fumming. Now all of the guys where around us.

        "Kelsey, you have no idea what happened, so leave it be and mind your own damn business!" I'm not in the mood to be pissed off, and she is so close to pissing me off.

        "THEN ENLIGHTEN ME!!!! HOW CAN YOU JUST LEAVE THE GUY YOU HAVE A CHILD WITH AND NOT EVEN CARE!!!!" I balled my fists up, ready to punch her. "What? Is it because he found out your pregnant, and it's not his child?" I heard gasps all around me, and Jon standing there, looking at me, almost in tears. "FUCKIN ANSWER ME!!!!"

        I took a deep breathe, "YOU WANNA KNOW WHY??? IT'S BECAUSE HE HIT ME AND FUCKIN ABUSED ME!!!! WHEN HE AND I GOT INTO A FIGHT, I WENT TO BRANDON'S PLACE TO GET AWAY. I DON'T REGRET IT, BECAUSE BRANDON LOVES EVELYN AND I BOTH!!!!!"

        She stood there with a shocked look, so did all of the guys, "Bri, I didn't know that he did that to you."

        I laughed, "Because you would rather cause trouble instead of finding out the facts first. Just like when we came here for my birthday 3 years ago and I got pregnant, you slept with Kris and then wanted to go and throw the fact that you were on birth control into my face. I forgave you then, but this, I'm not so sure. I gave you a second chance, and you just blew it. Leave me alone, and don't even try talking to me." I walked past her, going to Chaunette and Evelyn.

        "Hey girl, you ok?" I didn't even notice that I was crying.

        "Yeah, I just got into a fight with Kelsey. I'm gonna take Evelyn and go home. Thanks Chaun, I owe you!" She stood up and pulled me into a hug.

        "Love you girl. If you need me to watch her one night so you and Brandon can go out, I'm sure Andrew would love to watch her."

        I laughed, "Thanks Chaun, c'mon Evelyn."

        She grabbed my hand, "Bye Auntie Chaun!" She hugged Chaun.

        "Bye Evelyn. Be good for your mom and Brandon ok?" She nodded and we headed home. I laid her down for a nap after lunch and laid down as well. I needed to get everything off my mind.
