Leaning against the wall Jody yawned wondering if the lift's rise could get any slower. It was quite possible that she could fall asleep right there on the floor. Pandemonium lived up to its name tonight. She and Candy lived up every second of the fun. Now her feet hurt and her body craved a big comfortable bed.

Gate opened, Jody made her way across the sitting space, stopping by end table to drop her keys into the glass dish. Another yawn. Moving along to the bedroom, brows dented when her tired eyes took in the scene. Suitcases on the bed, clothing laid out, Roger shifting around in the closet.

"Honey," she called, "what's going on?"

Carrying items of hers, Roger placed them in her bag. "We're leaving back to LA. Our flight is at 6."

"Say p.m., please."

Arranging her clothing just so, he simply shook his head.

The nightstand clock read a quarter to three. Jody sighed. Off with her heeled boots, she left them in the middle of the floor and went over to the bed. Finding a semi empty space, she laid.

"But you said next week, what changed?" she mumbled into the bedding.

"Nothing, I just want to go now. The snow is getting to me."

Generally Roger had a relaxed manner of speaking. Smooth and solid as if he'd carefully and thoughtfully chosen each word before it sounded from his mouth. The ones that he said now came short, final. It almost sounded as though he were in a hurry.

"Spontaneity is great and all but you know I have to work this whole week."

Traveling to the closet again, "Take off," was his offhanded reply.

Jody waited until he returned to respond, she didn't feel like projecting her voice.

"I can't, not this soon. That's why I picked up extra days; to make up for what I lost last week."

Roger nudged her hip, tugging at a shirt that was stuck under her leg. "I don't know why you still work there anyway." he groused.

Pulling the garment free, she tossed it over at him, channeling her dislike of his comment into the throw. "Because regular people have bills to pay."

"Well you'll have to figure out something because both of us are getting on that plane." He asserted.

Something is definitely up. Jody sensed that none of this had to do with the snow.

"What's this really about?"

"Why do you ask so many questions?"

Deciding against irritation, Jody shut her eyes with intentions of going to sleep. However her plans were thwarted as Roger kept moving her over out of his way. Sucking her teeth she got up and relocated to the other side of the room and curled up on the couch.

When Jody woke up she was in the car. Looking out the window she saw they were at the airport.

"You sleep like the dead." Roger said as he helped her out of the backseat.

She faded out again on the plane. Waking up at LAX evoked in her a sense déjà vu. That feeling coupled along with the flight itself was enough to give a her headache. This wasn't going to cut it. If they were going to keep flying, something had to be done about her apparent allergy to it. She didn't plan on living out her days as an altitude zombie.

When they arrived at a hotel different from the one before, Roger informed, "This is only for today."

He went on to say something about a rental and another something about a studio on Sunset but it was all foggy to Jody. She got barely two hours of sleep before they flew out and her slumber on the plane was plagued by uncomfortable positioning, so sleep was a thing her body still craved.
